Trayner Flushes Horowitz

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Malcolm Trayner
Malcolm Trayner

Barry Forrester limped into the pot from the hijack before Alex Horowitz raised to 300 from the cutoff. Malcolm Trayner three-bet to 1,050 from the small blind. Forrester folded. Horowitz called.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Trayner continued for 1,500. Horowitz called.

Trayner quickly announced 'pot' after the {2-Hearts} dropped on the turn. Horowitz snap-called the 5,200-bet.

The {2-Spades} completed the board and Trayner tossed out 5,050. Horowitz didn't hesitate and called.

Trayner fanned out {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for a flush, and took down the pot, after Horowitz mucked his hand.

Lisandro in the Mix

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Jeff Lisandro
Jeff Lisandro

Jeff Lisandro is one of the more decorated players in the field, with six World Series of Poker bracelets and a WSOP Circuit Ring on his many list of poker accolades, in addition to 84 WSOP cashes and a player of the series award, which came back in 2009. Add this to over US$5.7 million in live tournament winnings, and it's fair to say Lisandro is a seasoned player.

It's still early doors and we have yet to catch the man in action in a significant pot, but this being an Omaha tournament it will just be a matter of time until this happens. Currently, Lisandro's chips are still close to the 25,000 starting stack, though he padded it out a little after raising the button to 400 and finding callers in Christine Hia and Bernie Stang.

Both checked the {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{k-Hearts} flop over to Lisandro, whose pot-sized 1,200 bet was enough to get it done and climb above starting stack to 26,000.

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

On a flop of {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades} Todd Ritson bet 400 from the cutoff and Ehsan Amiri called from the button.

Ritson checked dark before the {4-Clubs} completed the board. Amiri checked behind.

Ritson announced he had an eight before Amiri tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for trip fives and the winning hand.

Rix and Lee Battle

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

A sizable pot played out between Jason Rix and Thomas Lee that saw the former win a sizable pot. It was Lee who was the instigator, making it 500 to go pre-flop from the cutoff. Rix re-raised to 1,300 from the button and the big blind cold-called, with Lee tossing in the extras to take play three-way to a flop of {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

Following a check from the big blind, Lee potted and Rix was the only caller, with the {10-Diamonds} pairing the board. Lee led, Rix raised and the pot was over 15,000 coming into the {8-Diamonds} river, which saw checks from both.

Rix rolled over {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} for the boat, with Lee griping "Well, I had the nuts on the flop..." but then, that's pot-limit Omaha for you. Rix scooped the pot to climb to 47,200 while Lee took the hit to drop down to 26,300.

The turn brought the {9-Spades} and Pascoe checked. Bownds tossed out 1,300, and took down the pot, after Pascoe mucked her hand.

Bownds already has double the starting stack early in the day's proceedings.

Matthew Howearth
Matthew Howearth

Matthew Howearth has just taken out Michael Seymour and Steven Z after the three committed all their chips into the pot.

The board showed {4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Howearth's winning hand of {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} was the only one spread out on the table.

The flush sends Howearth to the top of the counts with almost triple the starting stack.

Sitbon Sits In

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Julien Sitbon is back in action, making it 700 to go from the big blind following an under-the-gun limp and calls from the button and small blind. Under-the-gun limper Luke Burmester was the only caller to take the action heads-up to a flop of {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

Sitbon led out for 2,000 with Burmester making the call to bring the duo to the {7-Hearts} turn, which brought another bet from Sitbon and a fold from Burmester.

Bownds and Correia Chop it Up

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Over on the feature table, Nuno Correia made it 400 to go from the hijack and Ryan Bownd's re-popped it to 1,400 on the button. After both blinds folded, Correia made the call to take the action heads-up to a flop of {j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, which both players checked.

The {10-Hearts} turn was the action card, with Bownds leading for 2,700 and Correia re-raising to 9,000 in total. Bownds shoved and Correia quickly called and the hands were turned over.

Nuno Correa: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Ryan Bownds: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{7-Spades}

Both players had the Broadway straight, with Bownds having a slight 57% freeroll with his backdoor hearts. However, the {9-Spades} river meant it was a chop.

Daniel Tan Building Early

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Daniel 'DT' Tan
Daniel 'DT' Tan

Following two limpers, Daniel Tan pumped the pot to 600, which deterred no-one. The action went three-way to a flop of {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

That was it for the betting in the hand, with the action checked on the flop, the {6-Spades} turn and the {6-Hearts} river. Tan turned over {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and kings and sixes were enough to take the pot.
