Oscar Blanco Departs

Busto Blanco
Busto Blanco
Straight after the end of the dinner break, we lost Spaniard Oscar Blanco. He moved all in preflop with {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Jani Sointula (Finland) quickly called with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}. The flop was {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. The turn was the {9-Clubs} and the river was the {9-Diamonds}. Sointula's {A-Spades} plays, counterfeiting Blanco's pocket fours. Blanco busted out and Sointula increased his stack to 60,000.

Humberto Brenes Eliminated

The Shark Nevermore
The Shark Nevermore
Humberto Brenes open-shoved UTG for 10,000. Matthew Gilbert instantly moved all in. Action folded around to Erick Lindgren in the big blind. He went into the tank for a couple of minutes.

"You pushed so quickly," Lindgren commented. "What do you have, 42,000?"

He asked the dealer to count down Gilbert's stack. Gilbert had 41,900. Lindgren agonzied for another minute before he relunctantly folded. Gilbert instantly tabled his cards and showed {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

"I got two," screamed Brenes. "Two twos!"

Brenes flipped over {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. He immediately asked the dealer for a two. The flop was {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Brenes said, "Please, the king of hearts."

The dealer slowly burned, then turned over the {K-Hearts}. Gilbert turned a set, but Brenes picked up a flush draw.

"Ahhh!" he screamed. "Now give me the queen of hearts!"

The river was the {4-Spades} and Brenes' hand did not improve. He headed to the rail. Gilbert increased his stack to over 52,000.

The Saga of Short-Stack Jackson

No more ActionJack
No more ActionJack
That sounds like it could be a banjotastic country song, but it's the way Paul Jackson has been dramatically adding to and subtracting from his small stack. Just now he reraised button raiser (and neighbour and fellow Dusk Till Dawn sponsoree -- no soft play here) Dave Colclough all in preflop. Dave passed showing A-9 while Jackson showed 8-8.

Moments later, and Jackson was reraising Paul Ephremsen from 4,500 to 11k total preflop. A think and look at the Jackson stack (less than 10k remaining) and Ephremsen opted for the call.

Flop: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}. Ephremsen bet out 10k pretty fast, and Jackson insta-folded {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} face-up. He was shown {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for his trouble.

The last stand was again, moments later, when Jackson ran into the queens of Joe Le, his ace-big-kicker missing everything.

Big Stacks Ready to Collide

Huseyin Yilmaz
Huseyin Yilmaz
Two of the biggest stacks in the tournament are now facing off against each other. Annette_15 and Huseyin Yilmaz are now seated opposite each other, with over 350,000 between them. Both are very aggressive and a big pot between these two could almost gaurantee a final-table place for the winner.

The Boots Work Their Magic for Ridge

John Ridge, in danger of dwindling, just received a double through from Jeff Lisandro by calling his way to victory with the {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}. He called 4k preflop, 8k on the flop of {Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, and all in (roughly 20k) on the {K-Diamonds} turn. At this point, Lisandro had to show the {K-Hearts}{4-Hearts} with which he'd actually hit the turn, but the river was a blank {2-Hearts} and there is now 40k in front of Ridge.

Hellmuth, the Thinker

Down to only 15,000 chips and with tilt-steam practically rolling out of his ears, Phil Hellmuth has come out of his chair altogether and is engaged in some form of bizzare prayer/meditation, contorted into the "Thinker" pose with one knee on the ground and his head in his right hand. His chips lie in an uncountable lake in front of him as he nods his head along with the gangsta rap that is undoubtedly blasting out of his iPod and into his ears. The cameras have been on him nonstop, waiting for the inevitable blowup.

We'll keep you posted on all the Hellmuth antics.

WOO!

Joe Le, mostly calm
Joe Le, mostly calm
Joe Le wins "the biggest pot of my life," after getting it all in against Sergey Rybachenko - the flop was {6-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{4-Spades} and his {A-Hearts}{6-Clubs} improved to two pair on the turn. Rybachenko's daring draw failed to hit and a relieved Le whooped and jumped up out of his seat, releasing the adrenaline-fuelled tension after the hand. He has shot up to 98k while Rybachenko has dropped to 61k.

Dropped by a Dead Donkey

Bruno Fitoussi
Bruno Fitoussi
Bruno Fitoussi is out. He fell at the hands of Neil Pearson, a British actor best known for a 1990's sitcom called "Drop the Dead Donkey" (hence the title).

Bruno got all his money in with {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and was called by Pearson's {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. No improvement for either man, so Big Slick sent Fitoussi home.
