Johannes Korsar Doubles Through Annette_15

Over at the featured TV table, there was a pot worth over 1 million. Annette "Annette_15" Obrestad raised 22,000 and Johannes Korsar raised to100,000. Annette_15 moved all in. She had Korsar covered and he quickly called for his entire 551,000 stack.

Korsar: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Annette_15: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}

The flop was {Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Korsar solidified his lead with a set of Queens. The turn was the {10-Clubs} and the river was the {A-Clubs}. Korsar ended up winning with a Queen high flush. He increased his stack to over 1 million. Annette_15 slipped to about 250,000.

Pat Scanlon - The All-In Guy

Oim Arrrl In!!!
Oim Arrrl In!!!
Pat Scanlon has an unusual yet effective style. In the last two days he has pretty much gone all in or folded. Its been working for him and he is known amongst the big name pros as 'the all in guy' - earlier I spotted Annie Duke and Erick Lindgren saying the allin guy was doing well.

In a recent pot against Gus Hansen he, you guessed it, went all in. Suddenly from around the rail a small army of Irish Senior Citizens (including Bob Willis from yesterday) popped up on chairs behind the crowds and started cheering him on.

"Thats the way to do it Pat" on said.

If any of you have played in Ireland, which is the best place for poker outside of Vegas, you'll agree that that is the way they do it over there.

Karl Mahrenholz busted by Oyvind Riisem in 15th place (£38,010)

Karl Mahrenholz: the Mantis is out
Karl Mahrenholz: the Mantis is out
Perhaps this was precipitated by news of Annette_15 being 'crippled' coming to the Outer Table - she was said to have 200k, and Karl, with his 80k said, "That's crippled? I'm screwed then."

This was before this hand was dealt - Oyvind Riisem raising in middle position and being called (22k) by small blind Gus Hansen and big blind Mahrenholz.

Flop: {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} Hansen checked, and the Mantis shoved - for 52k. Riisem thought for a while before throwing in the call, while Hansen bowed out of the hand.

Mahrenholz showed: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Riisem showed: {Q-Spades}{8-Spades}

Turn: {8-Clubs} The audience and players were, this time, deathly silent

River: {3-Diamonds} And Karl headed out of the ropes, showing very little of the frustration he must have felt at seeing the turn card crash him out in 15th.

Annette_15 Doubles Up

Over at the featured TV table, Annette_15 moved all in for her last 186,000. Johannes Korsar called.

Annette_15: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Korsar: {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}

All of Annette_15's vocal railbirds screamed, "Five! Five!"

The dealers deal out a flop one card at a time and the door card was the {5-Spades}. The complete flop was {Q-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Annette_15 picked up a set. The turn was the {K-Diamonds}, which gave Korsar a gutshot draw. The river was the {8-Spades} and Annette_15 doubled up to 331,000.

We are not a tourist information board

After 10 days of members of the public walking up to my PC and asking:

If they can check their email
If they can check the NFL scores
Which one was Phil Ivey?
If anyone can sit down and play at these tables
Where the (Put London Landmark here) was
If they can play 100/200nl on my laptop.

However,

Some young John Tabatabai fans have come over to tell me that Pokernews has kept them going for the last week, as they constantly clicked refresh to see how their guy was doing. Brilliant Website they told us.

Yay Us
