You Only Live Twice

Despite using every opportunity available to introduce himself to the press as James Bond, Yilfer Shevket is not, in fact, 007's namesake in disguise involving full grey beard and Vic baseball cap, although I would have taken him at face value were it not for the prior experience of danafish...

In any case he just lost all but 1,700 of his stack in a race with Rick Fuller. With the blinds at 150/300, Fuller raised preflop to 3,800 from middle position. After his tablemates doubletook, there was genuine interest in the hand registered from Shevket alone in the small blind. After a bit of a think about it, during which time he appeared to be saying a sequence of numbers, he moved his whole stack across the line and was quickly called all-in.

Shevket: {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}
Fuller: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}

The board emerged {3-Spades} {6-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} doubling Fuller through and knocking Mr. Bond nearly to the felt. Comeback needed of Casino Royale proportions.
