Failla Sends Another Home

We just reported how Will "The Thrill" Failla busted two players at once. He just sent another player to the rail.

The money went in on the {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop with Failla holding the {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and his opponent the {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. The turn was the {7-Spades} and the river the {8-Diamonds} to bump Failla to about 85,000 in chips.

Hellmuth Has Been Eliminated

Level 6 : 250/500, 50 ante

Phil Hellmuth will not be adding bracelet number 12 to his collection as he has just been eliminated here in Cannes.

Down to 1,600 he decided to raise to 1,100 from the hijack seat and then call off his last 500 chips when Michael Telker three-bet to 2,800 from the small blind.

Telker{A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

A drama-less {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades} board saw Hellmuth rise from his seat, say goodbye to Ben Lamb and exit stage left.

Updated Chip Counts

Blain Bests Waxman

Matt Waxman, 2011 World Poker Tour Paris champion, check-called a bet of 3,900 on the {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{10-Spades} board from 2009 APPT Macau champion Dermot Blain. The river completed the board with the {8-Clubs} and Waxman checked again. Blain contemplated betting, but claimed, "I'm a nit," and checked.

Waxman tabled the {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Blain the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Waxman's losing hand was mucked and Blain won the pot.

Will "The Thrill" Failla

Will "The Thrill" Failla has just busted two players in once hand to catapult him back to around 40,000 chips.

From under the gun a short stacked Gavin Cochrane moved all in and next to act was Audrey Villano who also moved all in for what turned out to be 10,825. One player folded and Failla re-shoved over the top of them both and when the rest of the table folded it was time for a showdown.

Villano{8-Spades} {8-Diamonds}
Failla{A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

The final board ran out {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Failla helped himself to a substantial pot.

Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

After Carlo Savinelli checked the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} flop, Jason Mercier bet 1,325. David Kahan put in a raise to 3,200 and then Savinelli mucked. Mercier made the call.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and Mercier checked to Kahan. He bet 10,000 flat and Mercier tank-called.

The {K-Spades} paired the board on the river and Mercier checked again. Kahan decided on a bet of 20,000 and Mercier went into the tank. He would eventually make the call and when he did, Kahan tapped the table to signify to Mercier that he made a good call before turning up the {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a bluff. Mercier showed the {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and raked in the pot.
