Boeree Rings Notre Dame's Bell

Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

We picked up the action on the turn in a three-way pot. The board showed {9-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {8-Spades}, and Pierre Neuville led out into the pot with a bet of 3,500 from the big blind. Julien Notre Dame flatted next door, and the action came to Liv Boeree. She studied carefully, then stuck in a raise to 9,700. That folded Neuville out of the way, but Notre Dame put in the call to see the last card.

It was the {A-Spades}, and now Notre Dame led out with 10,000 of his own chips. Boeree took a good pause, then raised all in minus a few chips. Both she and Notre Dame went to the river with about 30,000 in front of them, and Notre Dame had 18,900 left behind after his bet. After some time, he committed the rest of his chips and turned up {K-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}. Boeree had that soundly beaten with {5-Clubs} {6-Clubs}, and her straight to the nine earns her the knockout.

She's still stacking up that pot, but it looks like she's going to be close to the century mark after that double-up-and-then-some.

Charter's Aces Cracked

Sam Chartier
Sam Chartier

From middle position, Sam Chartier raised to 2,000. Action then folded to Sergey Tikhonov on the button and he called. Everyone else folded and the flop came down {J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Chartier fired a continuation bet of 2,500. Tikhonov raised to 5,000. Chartier thought for a minute and then reraised to 12,300. Tikhonov moved all in, having Charter covered. Chartier quickly called.

Chartier turned over the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} and was all in for about 40,000 in chips. on the flop. Tikhonov held the {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for an open-ended straight draw.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} to pair up Tikhonov, but Chartier was still in front. The river put him in last place though when the {8-Spades} fell and gave Tikhonov a straight to the queen. Chartier sent over the chips and wished the table good luck before departing the tournament area.
