Kitai Comeback

Davidi Kitai did not have a lot of chips left when he got involved in the following hand. The Belgian bracelet winner was fortunate enough to take down the pot, and that means he's back in the race.

The flop read {5-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} when Kitai bet 650 and his opponent called. On the turn the {Q-Hearts} hit, and Kitai checked. His opponent fired out 1,200 at this time, and Kitai called again, but not before putting on his sunglasses.

The river brought out the {9-Spades} and Kitai moved all in for just 3,175. Kitai's opponent hesitated for a bit before throwing in the call.

Kitai turned over {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, and with his full house he managed to double up.

Mizrachi Shares The Wealth: Azor Jumps into Second

There are a ton of chips over on Table 8 where Michael Mizrachi has been a very commanding force. Ran Azor has been sitting there all day as well, and he just managed to get a very big double up.

Azor got his stack worth 23,625 into the pot holding {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} against Mizrachi's {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Both players had pocket aces, but Azor had the better cards on the side.

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{Q-Spades}, and Azor celebrated his double up. Even though Mizrachi had to pay off 157 big blinds, he's still on 93,000 chips.

Jachtmann Makes His Presents Know

Before this summer not a lot of people knew who Jan-Peter Jachtmann was. But that changed quickly when he managed to win the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship. The German player won his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet and $661,000.

Now we're in Cannes and Jachtmann is looking for more Pot-Limit Omaha succes. On a {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop the player to Jachtmann's right bet 500, and he called. Jani Sointula called as well in position.

The turn was the {2-Hearts} and the flop-bettor checked. Jachtmann fired out 2,000, and only Sointula called. On the river the {Q-Spades} hit, and the German bet 4,800. Sointula gave it some thought, but eventually folded leaving himself with 9,100. Jachtmann is off to a great start with 27,000 chips in front of him.

Fitoussi Cracks Aces

Three players saw a {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} with already around 8,500 chips in the middle. Pascal Leyo was in the small blind, and he bet 9,200. Bruno Fitoussi quickly moved all in, and Rifat Palevic folded in position. Leyo called off his remaining chips and heads up they went to showdown.

Showdown:
Pascal Leyo: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{K-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Bruno Fitoussi: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}

The turn brought out the {Q-Clubs} and the river the {2-Spades} giving Fitoussi the winning hand. Leyo was eliminated, and Fitoussi now has a very comfortable stack.

Tilly Gone

Jennifer Tilly just made her way to the exit after losing his final chips. Earlier we saw her get knocked down after having to fold in a big pot versus Ran Azor, but unfortunately we did not catch her bust out hand.

After Tilly's elimination there are still 70 players remaining out of the 93 that have signed up so far. Late registrations is open for another hour and 40 minutes.
