Romanovskyi Beats Hellmuth Again and the Ranting Continues

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

From early position, Phil Hellmuth raised to 5,000. Action folded all the way around to Roman Romanovskyi in the big blind, and he called to see the {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop.

"Ok, this could be the double up!" said Hellmuth when he saw Romanovskyi call.

On the flop, Romanovskyi checked, Hellmuth bet 5,000, and Romanovskyi called.

"Turn a four, please," requested Hellmuth.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds}, and Romanovskyi checked. "Aaaallllll rriiiiiggghhhtt, I cheeeeccckkkk," said Hellmuth with a long, drawn out check.

The river completed the board with the {8-Spades}. Romanovskyi bet 8,400, and Hellmuth beat him into the pot.

Romanovskyi tabled the {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for two pair, nines and fours. Hellmuth snapped his hands into the air with disgust. "Yeah, nice hand. So sick!" he complained.

Romanovskyi egged him on a little by saying, "Yeah, nice snap call," but this only set Hellmuth off more.

"You wanna make fun of me, huh?" came back Hellmuth. "You played so bad today, please don't tell me about poker. Jesus!"

Hellmuth paused, but then continued, "So sick! This f***ing player is the worst player ever. This is so sick!"

He stayed in front after the {9-Hearts} turn, but the {5-Hearts} on the river delievered O'Brien with the win and the double. O'Brien was all in for 35,300.

Hellmuth with a Pair

On the first hand back from the break, action folded to Phil Hellmuth in the small blind. He limped in, then John Monnette checked his option in the big blind.

The flop of {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} was checked by both players before the {10-Spades} landed on the turn. Both checked again. The river was the {3-Spades}, and both checked once more.

Hellmuth announced a pair of eights and showed the {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Monnette mucked.

Phil Hellmuth Eliminated in 12th Place (€5,428)

Phil Hellmuth - 12th Place
Phil Hellmuth - 12th Place

From under the gun, the short-stacked Phil Hellmuth raised to 7,000. He had 8,000 behind, and action folded around the table to his nemesis of the day, Roman Romanovskyi. Romanovskyi reraised to 14,000 after asking Hellmuth how much he had behind. Hellmuth moved his chips all in and said, "You've probably got the best hand this time." Romanovskyi called.

Hellmuth showed the {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and was behind the {A-Spades}{5-Spades} for Romanovskyi. The good thing was, his cards were plenty live.

The board ran out {J-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades}, and Hellmuth couldn't find what he needed. He was eliminated in 12th place, earning €5,428.

"I play like a 12-time world champ and I'm out," were the parting words of Hellmuth as he exited the tournament.
