Ace on the River Allows Monnette to Double Through Selbst

Three players saw a flop of {4-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades} and it went check-check to Vanessa Selbst, who bet 250. John Monnette then woke up with a check-raise to 825 from the small blind, David "ODB" Baker folded from the big, and Selbst made the call. When the dealer burned and turned the {A-Spades}, Monnette moved all in for 2,300 and Selbst snap-called.

Showdown
Monnette: {A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Selbst: {2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Monnette had turned two pair, but he was well behind Selbst's wheel. Fortunately for Monnette, who has had an impressive WSOP Europe thus far, he spiked the {A-Diamonds} on the river to boat up and double.
