Trickett Claims He Can't Beat Anything

From the hijack seat, Philipp Gruissem raised to 4,000. Sam Trickett called from the big blind to take an {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop. Trickett checked, Gruissem bet 5,000, and Trickett called.

The turn was the {5-Clubs}, and Trickett check-called another bet from Gruissem, this time for 14,000.

The river was the {J-Spades}, and Trickett checked with 62,200 left in chips. Gruissem fired a giant stack of T5,000 gray chips to put Trickett all in, and that sent Trickett into the tank.

After tanking for a minute or two, Trickett said, "I can't beat anything," and showed {K-Diamonds} before folding.

The turn was the {K-Diamonds}, and Negreanu checked. Stammen kept on the gas with a bet of 10,300, but Negreanu was right with him to make the call.

The river completed the board with the {7-Spades}, and Negreanu checked. Stammen checked behind.

Negreanu showed the {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts} to beat Stammen's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and scoop in the pot.

Kuether Playing Power Poker

We found Joe Kuether and an opponent looking at {4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Kuether bet 24,500 and his opponent called.

The {Q-Diamonds} completed the board and Kuether wasted no time announcing that he was all in. This bet had his opponent covered, as he only had roughly 60,000 behind. His opponent pondered the decision for over a minute before finally letting his hand go, allowing Kuether to pick up a solid pot. He's now sitting at 270,000 in chips.

From under the gun, Russell Thomas raised to 4,000. Action folded to [Removed:163] in the small blind, and he made the call. Jesse Sylvia, who happens to be Thomas' fellow Octo-Niner at the World Series of Poker Main Event final table, reraised from the big blind to 11,500. Thomas four-bet to 24,000, and that knocked Sheikh out of the way. Sylvia also folded, and Thomas won the pot.

Baranov Leading, Behbehani Back in it

Sergii Baranov
Sergii Baranov

Salman Behbehani just stepped away from the table and told us how he doubled through Sergii Baranov.

"It was very bad, very ugly," Baranov said as Behbehani explained what went down.

Barano raised to 4,500 from the button after which Behbehani three-bet to 12,000 from the big blind. Baranov put his opponent all in, and Behbehani snap called.

Showdown:
Sergii Baranov: {J-}{4-}
Salman Behbehani: {A-}{10-}

The board ran out {Q-}{4-}{6-}{J-}.....{K-}, and Behbehani doubled up. He's now back in the race while Baranov still has a commanding chip lead in the tournament.
