Negreanu Takes a Hit

Daniel Negreanu opened to 5,200 from the button and Remy Biechel three-bet to 19,300 from the big blind. Negreanu called and the flop fell {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Biechel continued for 36,300 and Negreanu called.

The turn was the {7-Hearts} and Biechel moved all in for 104,900. Negreanu went into the tank for a while

"I'm only scares of aces, my man, sheesh," said Negreanu. "Alright let me do some math...I'm not getting the right price. Damn it! Why am I not getting the right price. I feel lucky, though!"

Eventually Negreanu let go of his hand and Biechel took down the pot. With this hit, Negreanu is now sitting on a stack of 217,000.

Behbehani Struggling, Kuether Cruising

The board read {3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} when Joe Kuether bet 32,000 from the small blind. Salman Behbehani was on the button and he tanked for a while before making the call.

Kuether showed {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}, and Behbehani seemed very frustrated with the result of this hand. Kuether is up there with the big stacks while Behbehani will have to fight for a spot in the money.

October Niner Sends Alekberovas to the Rail

Jesse Sylvia opened for 5,000 under the gun and received a call from Dan Smith in middle position. Anaras Alekberovas then three-bet to 25,000 from the button, leaving just 3,900 behind, and Sylvia made the call. Smith got out of the way and it was heads-up action to the {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{K-Clubs} flop. Sylvia wasted little time in leading out for 5,000 and Alekberovas called off.

Showdown
Sylvia: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Alekberovas: {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

Neither the {9-Spades} turn nor {4-Hearts} river helped the young Lithuanian, and he was eliminated just shy of the first break.

Hellmuth with Aces

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Paul Tedeschi opened with a raise to 5,000 from the cutoff seat, and Phil Hellmuth reraised to 30,000 from the big blind. Tedeschi thought for a minute, then folded.

"Ha! Ha! Ha!" laughed Hellmuth as he showed the {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}. "Why don't you put 'em in? We play! You and I, we play! You understand that, 'we play'?"

Updated Chip Counts

"Let's Gamble"

Action folded around to Prosper Masquelier on the button and he raised to 6,000. "I read a book that said to raise in position," he explained. Jesse Sylvia was having none of it and raised to 17,600 from the small blind.

The big blind folded and Masquelier splashed in a call while saying, "Let's gamble." The {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{A-Clubs} flop saw Sylvia fire out 20,500, and Masquelier gave it some thought before showing the {A-Hearts} and folding. It looks like he wasn't in the gambling mood after all.

Mercier Eliminates Trickett

Philipp Gruissem opened with a preflop raise and Jason Mercier three-bet the action to 12,900. It folded around to Sam Trickett in the big blind, who, after a moment or so, moved out a four-bet to 25,800.

Gruissem folded his hand and Mercier announced a five-bet all in. Trickett called and was at risk for his tournament life.

Trickett: {A-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Mercier: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The board fell {5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Trickett was unable to improve. He was forced to ship the rest of his stack over to Mercier who is now sitting on about 290,000.

Julius Hits 300K

Kyle Julius
Kyle Julius

When we arrived at the table, a final board of {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{K-Spades} was in the middle of the felt, and Kyle Julius had a bet of 45,300 in front of him with Sergii Baranov in the tank. After a minute or two, Baranov called, but could only muck when Julius rolled over the nuts with a Broadway straight — {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}.

After scooping the pot, Julius now has 300,000 in chips. Baranov dropped below 500,000.
