Andrulis Eliminated in "Heartbreaking" Fashion

Kristijonas Andrulis
Kristijonas Andrulis

We're not sure of the exact details, but we do know that Kristijonas Andrulis was recently eliminated holding {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} by the {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} of Stephane Girault. The two got it all in preflop, but two hearts on the flop and runner-runner hearts on the turn and river put an end to Andrulis' day in "heartbreaking" fashion.

Katchalov's Turn to Double

Scott Seiver opened for 8,000 under the gun and picked up three callers up to Eugene Katchalov in the small blind. The Ukrainian pro opted to three-bet all in for 65,500, three folds ensued, and then Emil Patel called from the button.

Showdown
Patel: {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Katchalov: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

The {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop gave Katchalov a big lead, but the {10-Diamonds} did give Patel a gut-shot straight draw. Unfortunately for him, the {Q-Clubs} river would not complete it and Katchalov more than doubled.

Markushevski Spikes One Outer to Double; Cieutat Eliminated

Steve Dannenmann opened the action with a raise to 8,000 and Vadzim Markushevski moved all in for 86,500. It folded around to Nicolas Cieutat who moved all in over the top for 101,500 total.

Action folded back to Dannenmann and he mulled over the decision for a while before finally folding {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} face up to the table. Markushevski and Cieutat rolled over their hands to show that Dannenmann made an excellent fold:

Markushevski: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Cieutat: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

The flop was {3-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Cieutat's aces held the lead. However, the case king- {K-Diamonds}- struck the turn and the entire table and rail let out a collective gasp. The {J-Clubs} finished the board and Markushevski was able to double thanks to a one outer. Cieutat, however, was crippled to 14,000.

Cieutat would bust the next hand after Kyle Julius opened and Cieutat moved all in. Bertrand Grospellier re-raised and Julius folded. Grospellier held {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} to Cieutat's {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The board came {10-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Grospellier was able to finish off Cieutat with Broadway.

Mercier Puts Pressure on Fox

Jason Mercier raised under the gun to 8,500 and Elio Fox three-bet to 21,000. The action was folded back to Mercier who made the call.

The flop came down {9-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and both players checked. On the turn the {K-Diamonds} hit and Mercier checked. Fox bet 24,000 and Mercier decided to raise up to 55,500. Fox tanked for a bit and called.

On the river the {A-Spades} hit and Mercier fired out 87,000. Fox tanked for quite some time, but eventually laid his hand down. We are very close to the money, and last year's champion is still in the hunt.

Cheung Doubles Through Baranov

Fung Cheung
Fung Cheung

Max Silver raised to 8,000 under the gun and received a call from Fung Cheung in the hijack. Sergii Baranov then three-bet to 24,000 on the button, both blinds and Silver got out of the way, and Cheung proceeded to move all in. Baranov gave it some thought and then slid in a call.

Showdown
Baranov: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Cheung: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}

Cheung was ahead with her pocket sixes, and that's where she'd stay as neither the {2-Spades} turn nor {Q-Diamonds} river helped Baranov.

Action Slows As Bubble Looms

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

There hasn't been too much action going on around the room, as everyone seems to be waiting for the bubble to burst. We're only four eliminations away from the money here and the mood is tense as each move that players make are critical.

Tedeschi Doubles Big Through Alvarado

JC Alvarado
JC Alvarado

Paul Tedeschi and JC Alvarado each put in 62,000 preflop and saw a flop of {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. The former wasted little time in leading out for 62,000, Alvarado called, and the dealer burned and turned the {2-Diamonds}. Tedeschi, who had 159,000 behind, moved all in and Alvarado snap-called.

Showdown
Tedeschi: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Alvarado: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

Tedeschi slammed the table with his fist, apparently a popular celebration among Frenchman, when the river blanked. Alvarado counted out the chips to pay his opponent and was left with just 40,500 after the hand.

Frankenberger's Aces Hold Up

Andy Frankenberger was just all in pre flop against Julien Lefebvre.

Showdown:
Andy Frankenberger: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}
Julien Lefebvre: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}, and a very nervous looking Frankenberger doubled up. We are only four players removed from the bubble, and Frankenberger has some breathing room right now.
