MacPhee Eliminated

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Kevin MacPhee
Kevin MacPhee

One player limped in from the hijack before the next two players jammed. One was Evangelos Vettas, who had about 9,600 in the cutoff, and Kevin MacPhee followed suit on the button for 8,700. The limper tank-folded.

Vettas: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
MacPhee: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

MacPhee saw he was dominated and stood to leave. The board ran out {3-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{a-Hearts} and he headed for the exit.

Racener Loses a Chunk

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

After a middle position open to 2,300 and a call from the button, John Racener made it 8,200 in the big blind. The opener mucked but the player on the button came along after asking to see Racener's remaining stack. Racener made the same bet on the {6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{q-Hearts} flop and was again called. He checked the {4-Clubs} and immediately folded to an all-in shove.

"Careless" Israelashvili Scores a KO

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We came upon Roland Israelashvili, who had shoved all in from the small blind for 37,700 over a raise to 7,800 from the player in the cutoff, David Urban.

"I know you're careless," Urban declared. "I've played with you before."

After a couple of minutes, Urban called it off for about 32,000 with {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, and he needed help against {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. The board brought none: {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

"I am careless," Israelashvili confirmed casually as he dragged the pot.

Clinkscales Shoves a Scary Flop

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Rex Clinkscales
Rex Clinkscales

Rex Clinkscales opened early and got calls from both blinds for 2,700 apiece. The flop brought a connected {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Dror Ramaty bet out 7,500 in the small blind. That convinced the big blind to fold, but Clinkscales shipped it in for about 13,000 more effective, most of his own stack. Ramaty tanked about a minute and mucked.

At another table, Chris Ferguson appears to have gone bust.

Clinkscales Folds "Pretty Big Hand"

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

A player in middle position opened to 3,500 and got a call on his left before Rex Clinkscales made it 8,900 to go on the button. The big blind moved in for approximately 40,000. The opener mucked, but the caller said he was trapping and proceeded to flip a coin after a couple of minutes, which apparently led him to a fold.

"I have a pretty big hand," Clinkscales said with a deep breath.

"Me too."

"I really wanted to get it in versus one of these two," the American said.

After a couple of minutes, he decided to let it go, saying he was flipping against ace-king and beating all of his opponent's other hands.

Ejibia Stacking Heaps

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Zurab Ejibia
Zurab Ejibia

Zurab Ejibia was under the gun and playing a pot against both blinds when we got to his table. He bet 5,200 when they checked a {5-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} flop, and only the small blind called. Both players checked the {7-Diamonds} and {6-Spades} and the small blind opened {q-}{3-} for top pair. Ejibia had {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} though, and his kicker played to earn him the pot and add to a stack that's in contention for the lead.
