Stancu Doubles From Behind

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Vasile Stancu three-bet shoved his last 49,500 from the big blind over and under the gun open. He was behind with {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts} against the {a-Spades}{j-Spades} of his opponent.

He hit a nine on the flop and stayed ahead to earn the double. His opponent gave him a fist bump, presumably unconcerned about the loss of the pot, but Stancu survived the all in with stack a little more than 100,000.

Stancu Keeps Moving Up

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Vasile Stancu just doubled up after being at risk and behind and now he doubled through the chip leader.

Stancu opened to 11,000 and Serghei Lisiy, who began the day as the overall chip leader, raised from the small blind to 32,000. Stancu wasted no time going all in for 122,000 and Lisiy took a moment to decide his next move. He called and showed {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} to race against the {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} of Stancu.

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Stancu doubled again to 250,000.

Crha Building Stack Again

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Rene Crha already had some deep runs during the festival and is on the verge to building a decent opportunity once more.

Crha just took on Jusef Pahlewani after his raise was met by the three-bet shove of Pahlewani for around 60,000, and the Czech quickly called.

Jusef Pahlewani: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Rene Crha: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The board came {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Crha's hand held up to eliminate Pahlewani.

Sadallah Left Short

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Said Sadallah shook his head while the cards were already in the muck and he paid off the all in of Alexandra Janikova. The professional poker dealer that also cashed in this year's WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas was all in with {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} against the pocket queens of Sadallah and got there on a board of {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} to double for the second time today.

Kortan Busts

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

"He played every hand, that's why I called him with eight four," Albert Hoekendijk said after he had just sent Veysel Kortan to the rail. A big stack not long ago, Kortan lost most of his stack against Fabio De Nardi after flat-calling a raise with {10-}{5-}. While Kortan flopped bottom two pair, De Nari turned trips jacks to counterfit his hand and Kortan went broke.

Soon after, Kortan was all in for just 19,600 on the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop after a check by Hoekendijk and another player. Hoekendijk called out of the big blind and the other player folded.

"Maybe I will triple you up," the Dutchman said and turned over {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for the flush draw. Kortan had {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for top pair and the {3-Spades} turn and {5-Clubs} river sealed his fate.
