Small Pot for Lalwani

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

On a board of {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{K-Clubs}, Rakesh Lalwani and his table neighbor checked and tabled top pair each. Lalwani had {A-Spades}{10-Spades} and the narrow kicker advantage against {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} ensured that he claimed the pot.

New chip leader with 33 players remaining appears to be Flavio Decataldo from Italy.

Rasmussen and Gun Gone

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Jan Gompers
Jan Gompers

Kristoffer Rasmussen failed to beat the {A-Spades}{8-Spades} for top pair of Plamen Yakimov on a board of {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{2-Spades} and the cards of the Dane were already in the muck while he exited the tournament area moments later.

Over on table 80, the next all in showdown took place and it was Fabien Gun that pushed his short stack first to act. Jan Gompers called in the cutoff and the rest of the table got out of the way.

Fabien Gun: {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Jan Gompers: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The board came {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and that was it for Gun.

Another Two Down the Drain

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Andrea Klein
Andrea Klein

The eliminations keep on coming at a very quick pace and there are only 28 players remaining with 25 spots paid.

Tal Noach couldn't get there with his short stack and {Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} as Oliver Heidel held the better hand preflop and after the river with the {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Andrea Klein was the next to fall. She faced a raise to 10,000 by Marek Blasko in early position and pushed from one seat over for 70,000. Aleksandar Denishev called in the small blind and Blasko folded.

Andrea Klein: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Aleksandar Denishev: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

There was no upset on the {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{A-Spades}{10-Hearts} board and Klein also bowed out just shy of the money.

Down to 26 Players

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Paul Pestean had doubled his short stack not long ago and ended up all in again, this time it was Philipp Zukernik that caslled.

Paul Pestean: {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Philipp Zukernik: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

Pestean flopped well on {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, but the {K-Clubs} followed on the turn to give Zukernik the lead. A blank {10-Clubs} river changed nothing anymore and the field was reduced to the last 27 for the redraw.

However, one hand was still going on. Timo Vogt had moved all in for 9,500 only and was called by Thierry Delpui in the small blind and Allen Kessler in the big blind. Delpui bet the {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop for 8,000 and Kessler folded.

Timo Vogt: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Thierry Delpui: {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The {5-Spades} turn was followed by the {3-Clubs} river and Vogt became the 27th place finisher.

Shortest Hand-For-Hand Play Ever

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

In the first hand of hand-for-hand play, Jan Ramik was all in for 67,000 with the {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Aleksandar Denishev snap-called with the {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}. The board came {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Ramik turned a straight to survive.

There was one further all in and call and it was Francesco Cirianni that ended up all in with pocket jacks. Mykhailo Gutyi called with ace-queen and flopped both an ace and a queen to let the bubble burst.

Dahan Busts; Segal Doubles

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Refael Dahan was the first player to bust in the money and fellow countryman Tamir Segal doubled in a big pot against Michal Lubas.

Martin Kabrhel raised to 8,000 and Segal three-bet to 90,000 for most of his stack in the hijack. Michal Lubas moved all in from the button and Kabrhel folded, Segal called it off for 137,500.

Tamir Segal: {A-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Michal Lubas: {J-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

The board came {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{5-Spades} and Segal got there on the turn to leave Lubas with a mountain to climb.

Bednar Doubles Through Kabrhel

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

A big pot had already emerged when Jan Bednar jammed for 86,500 on the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{J-Spades} river. Martin Kabrhel called and Bednar tabled {K-Spades}{J-Clubs} for a full house, Kabrhel only had {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for trips kings and had to forfeit more than half of his stack.

Michal Lubas bowed out one hand later to reduce the field to the last 23 hopefuls on Day 1D.

Lalwani Eliminated by Kabrhel

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Rakesh Lalwani
Rakesh Lalwani

Martin Kabrhel had pushed the flop twice to push up his stack without showdown and remained involved in the action. A raise by the Czech in early position was called by Rakesh Lalwani in the small blind. The flop brought {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Lalwani checked, Kabrhel pushed once more for more than 150,000 and Lalwani called with a very similar stack size.

Rakesh Lalwani: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Martin Kabrhel: {K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Lalwani had plenty of outs with the over card and nut flush draw, but both the {2-Diamonds} turn and the {J-Spades} river bricked off. The stacks were counted and Kabrhel had 157,000, which covered Lalwani.
