Welcome to Event #5: €1,100 MONSTER STACK No-Limit Hold’em which kicks off at 3 PM local time with Day 1A here in the splendid King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. Three bracelets have already been awarded over the past week, who will be the next one?

Fourteen levels of 40 minutes each are scheduled for each of the three starting flights with a 40-minute dinner break after Level 6 which will be around 7:20 PM. Late registration is possible until the end of the break after Level 12 so it will close at approximately 00:25 AM due to the reduced duration of the dinner break and normal breaks. Players can only reenter in one of the next flights with a maximum of three entries per player. After every three levels or when color-ups need to take place, a 15-minute break will take place.

Oleksandr Shcherbak is the defending champion who won €117,708 last year by defeating the 561-strong field that was attracted by the Monster Stack. With a guaranteed prize pool of €500,000, the expectation is that this year will do just as well. Other notables that cashed last year and are expected to jump in include Viliyan Petleshkov, Carlo Savinelli, Rene Crha, Micky Blasi, Jan Bendik, Avi Hamo, Allen Kessler, and Jakob Miegel.

Shaun Deeb, Cord Garcia, Xixiang Luo, Michael Soyza, Rex Clinkscales, and many others are also expected to join the field over the next few days.

The tournament director has welcomed the players to the tables and instructed the dealers to shuffle up and deal if they have three or more players at their tables. The button will start in seat 9.

Lubas Wins One

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Michal Lubas raised to 400 from the button and was called by Sebastian Hartmann in the big blind.

The flop came {2-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, Hartmann check-called the 300 continuation-bet of Lubas.

Hartmann then check-called the 1,300 bet of Lubas on the {a-Clubs} on the turn.

The river completed the board with the {k-Hearts}, Hartmann checked for the last time, Lubas now fired a bet of 3,500 over the line. Hartmann quickly called but mucked when Lubas tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for the rivered top two pair.

Mussini Looking to Bag Chip Lead Again

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Nico Mussini bagged the chip lead after he played Day 1F of the COLOSSUS and is looking to do the same again here on Day 1A of the Monster Stack. Philippe Bouhnik was eliminated earlier on his table and as Mussini is sporting a significantly bigger stack than the starting stack, it is pretty safe to assume he was the culprit.
