Ruzicka's Squeeze Attempt Fails

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Ludvig Sterner opened to 800 from under the gun and was called by three players before the action was on Vojtech Ruzicka on the button. Ruzicka three-bet to 4,600 which got both of the blinds to quickly fold.

Sterner had other plans as he four-bet to 10,600. That forced the three callers of his initial raise to get out of the way and Ruzicka took a moment to think. After a minute, Ruzicka let his hand go and Sterner scooped the pot.

Sicsic Wins One

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

The flop read {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{a-Hearts} and Emil Bise had checked in the big blind. Abdelhakim Zoufri bet 1,300 from under the gun and was called by Frederic Sicsic on the button and Bise.

They all checked through the {10-Hearts} on the turn to the {8-Spades} on the river. Bise check-folded to Zoufri's bet of 3,500 and Sicsic called. Zoufri tabled {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for the pair of jacks but couldn't beat the {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} of Sicis who had flopped top two pair.

Peters Favors the River

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Tobias Peters
Tobias Peters

Tobias Peters raised it up from early position and Luca Marchetti defended from the big blind. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {9-Clubs} on the turn.

Marchetti led out for 1,300 and Peters raised to 4,500. Marchetti re-raised to 9,200 and Peters just called. The river was the {6-Diamonds} and Marchetti checked this time with three diamonds on the board. Peters put together a bet of 23,000 and Marchetti was left with a decision for the majority of his stack

He thought for over a minute before sliding his cards to the muck and allowing Peters to win the pot. Just a couple of moments later, Marchetti was seen leaving the tournament area after being eliminated.

Top Pair Holds for Zepeda

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Andres Zepeda raised to 1,100 from middle position and picked up action from three other players. The flop came {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Zepeda continued for 2,500. Fouad Zouiten was the only player to call from the cutoff.

The turn brought the {10-Clubs} and Zepeda fired out another 5,500. Zouiten stuck around to see the {4-Diamonds} on the river. Zepeda checked this time and Zouiten knuckled the table as well in frustration. Zepeda turned over {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} and Zouiten sent his cards to the muck.

Jahany Sends Riess to the Rail

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

After a raise from middle position, Khabat Jahany tossed in a 5,000 chip for a three-bet on the button. Ryan Riess four-bet to 11,000 in the small blind and the action came back to Jahany. He splashed in the rest of his 35,000 chips and Riess snap-folded.

Just a couple moments later, the same two players had all of the chips in the middle with Riess being the player at risk. The board was nearly complete reading {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Riess needed some help. The {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} was face up in front of Riess while Jahany held {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a set of sevens. The river bricked off and Riess made an early exit in his first tournament of the series.
