The Battle of the Big Stacks

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Anton Morgenstern and Tobias Peters played a huge 1.3 million pot where Morgenstern lost a big part of his stack while Peters is now over a million chips.

It was a three-way three-bet pot with almost 400,000 in the middle, and Morgenstern bet 150,000 from the small blind. Ilyaz Dosikov was the third player in the hand and he folded, while Peters called.

The {k-Diamonds} came on the turn and Morgenstern bet again 150,000, causing the same result with Peters calling.

The {k-Clubs} completed the board on the river and this time Morgenstern checked, while Peters announced all in for 235,000. Morgenstern called after a couple of minutes in the tank and Peters showed {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} with a full house. Morgenstern had to open his hand too and he had {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} which wasn't enough and Peters doubled up.

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Dorel Eldabach
Dorel Eldabach

Dorel Eldabach, left with 55,000 chips after Andriy Lyubovetskiy doubled through him a few seconds before, pushed his last chips in the middle after Guillermo Puerta Mallol raised to 25,000. Mallol called and the players tabled their cards:

Dorel Eldabach: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Guillermo Puerta Mallol: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Eldabach found no help throughout the board {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and made his way to the cashier.

Dosikov Doubles Through Morgenstern

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Tobias Peters started the action with a raise to 27,000 and Anton Morgenstern called on the button along with Marc Palatzky and Ilyaz Dosikov in the blinds.

The flop fanned {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Dosikov bet 110,000 after it was checked to him, with 127,000 left behind. Peters folded and Morgenstern moved all-in. Palatzky let it go and Dosikov called.

Ilyaz Dosikov: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Anton Morgenstern: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Dosikov got his double up after the board fell a {8-Spades} and a {3-Spades}, improving his hand into a better two pair.

One Million Stack Vanished

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Anton Morgenstern
Anton Morgenstern

Anton Morgenstern lost his last four hands and is now in the rail, even though he started as chip leader and went over one million chips at some point during Day 2.

After doubling Dosikov, he doubled Dash Dudley too, in a preflop war that ended with both players putting most of their chips in the middle preflop.

The flop came {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Dudley shoved around 100,000 and Morgenstern called with just 40,000 more than his opponent.

Dash Dudley: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Anton Morgenstern: {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

The {3-Clubs} on the turn and the {a-Hearts} on the river didn't change anything and Morgenstern was left with three big blinds.

He put them in the middle on the next, where he was under the gun and just one seat on his left, Marc Palatzky three-bet to pot. Everybody else folded and they opened their cards.

Marc Palatzky: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Anton Morgenstern: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Morgenstern eliminated from the event in 19th place.

Straight for Frank

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

On a board that read {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} Christopher Frank check-called a bet of 40,000 from Michal Mrakes.

The river completed the board with a {10-Diamonds} and after some thinking, both players checked. Frank announced "straight" and revealed {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, which was good enough to make Mrakes muck his cards.

Haavisto Busts; Down to Two Tables

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Ville Haavisto is the elimination that brought the last redraw for Day 2, to determine the last two tables of the event.

In a pot where Thai Ha opened from the cutoff and Ville Haavisto was in the big blind, the board had {6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Thai Ha raised Haavisto's bet, putting him all in. Haavisto called with {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and was in serious trouble against Ha's 8h6d4h3d].

The river wasn't a ten or a nine to give Haavisto a bigger full house and he busted in 17th place.
