Filatov Turns a Flush

Level 17 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Anatoly Filatov picked up {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} in the cutoff and raised to 650,000. Danny Tang found {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades} in the small blind. Tang used a time-bank and then folded. Filatov complimented him on the fold.

Filatov then found {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} in the hijack and raised to 650,000 again. Christoph Vogelsang held {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} in the big blind and defended.

The flop came {4-Spades}{8-Spades}{k-Spades} for Vogelsang to pair the four up but Filatov had the nut flush draw. Vogelsang check-called the 500,000 continuation-bet of Filatov.

The turn was the {9-Spades} for Filatov to hit the nut flush indeed. Vogelsang checked again, Filatov continued with a bet of 1,800,000. Vogelsang looked at Filatov and folded.

Danny Tang

Matthias Eibinger made it 690,000 to go from under the gun and Danny Tang, who was on the short stack, shoved all in for 3,300,000 in the cutoff. The action folded back to Eibinger who quickly made the call to put Tang at risk.

Matthias Eibinger: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Danny Tang: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

It was a coin flip with Tang needing to connect with the board in order to stay alive. The flop came {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} but neither play held a heart in their hand. The {7-Clubs} on the turn was no help to Tang and the {8-Hearts} on the river confirmed his exit from the tournament.

Anatoly Filatov: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Ole Schemion: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The flop came {j-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{3-Spades} to leave Filatov in the lead with his pocket kings. The {10-Hearts} on the turn gave Schemion a straight draw but his ace was no longer any good. It was the {a-Hearts} on the river that improved Filatov to a straight and Schemion was eliminated in sixth place.

Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

Matthias Eibinger raised to 690,000 from the cutoff with {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} and Christoph Vogelsang defended his big blind holding {6-Spades}{2-Spades}.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Eibinger hit two pair but Vogelsang flopped trip deuces. Vogelsang quickly checked and Eibinger continued with a bet of 400,000. Vogelsang took some time and raised to 1,300,000. Eibinger called.

The turn brought them the {7-Hearts}, Vogelsang bet 4,000,000 and Eibinger called.

The river completed the board with the {10-Clubs} to keep Vogelsang ahead. Vogelsang grabbed part of his stack and pushed it in as a bet. Eibinger asked for a count and the dealer complied while Vogelsang hid his face behind both of his hands. The dealer confirmed Vogelsang bet 8,075,000. Eibinger dived into the tank and flicked in the chip for the call.

Level 17 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Anatoly Filatov raised it up to 650,000 from the cutoff with {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and was called by Christoph Vogelsang in the small blind with {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Chin Wei Lim in the big blind with {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and the action checked to Filatov who continued for 900,000. Vogelsang called and Lim got out of the way.

Lim Takes From Thorel

Level 17 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel raised to 600,000 from the hijack with {k-Spades}{j-Spades}, Chin Wei Lim picked up {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} on the button and three-bet to 1,650,000. Thorel looked at his cards once more before making the call.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs} with the ace in the window. Lim hit top pair but Thorel had a gutshot to a Broadway.

They both checked through to the {j-Diamonds} on the turn for Thorel to hit a pair. Thorel bet 2,000,000, Lim took a few seconds and then made the call.

The river completed the board with the {3-Diamonds} to secure the pot for Lim. Thorel check-called the 3,100,000 bet of Lim and then paid up as he saw Lim was good with two pair, aces and treys.

Thorel Wins the Blind vs Blind Battle

Level 18 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel picked up {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} in the small blind and completed. Christoph Vogelsang raised to 1,400,000 in the big blind holding {3-Clubs}{2-Spades}.

The flop came {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for Vogelsang to hit bottom pair but keep Thorel ahead. Thorel checked and Vogelsang continued with a bet of 800,000 which was called.

The turn brought them the {10-Hearts} which didn't change anything. Thorel quickly checked and Vogelsang did the same.

The river completed the board with the {k-Spades} to pair the board up. Thorel bet 2,000,000 without any hesitation. Vogelsang looked at the board, glanced at Thorel, contemplated his options, said he had deuces, grimaced, called, and then mucked when he saw Thorel's pocket fours.

"Nice value bet! Police!" Anatoly Filatov commented, referencing Thorel's hat.

Thorel laughed: "Police! Be careful..."
