Sloboskoy Takes it with River Bet

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Naor Slobodskoy was on the button in a hand against Freek Scholten in the big blind. The flop was reading {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Slobodskoy called a bet for 10,000.

The {4-Diamonds} came on the turn and Scholten bet 31,000 this time, with Slobodskoy calling again.

The {4-Spades} completed the board and Scholten checked, with Sloboskoy betting 57,000 to take the pot after his opponent's fold.

Velasevic and Morgenstern Up for the Day

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Danilo Velsevic scooped the first bigger pot on a table filled with big names such as Dario Sammartino, Anton Morgenstern and Ryan Riess. Morgenstern then took on Sammartino and the latter check-called a bet of 5,000 on the {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop. They checked the {10-Clubs} turn and the {5-Diamonds} river, and Sammartino had {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} as the winning hand.

Morgenstern got the chips back soon after when he fired three barrels against Valerii Lubenets. The {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} turn bet was worth 15,000 and Lubenets check-folded the {6-Diamonds} river when facing a bet of 75,000.

Schulze Doubles Through Sinclair

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Felix Schulze
Felix Schulze

Last year WSOP Europe Main Event champion Jack Sinclair has got off to a rocky start on Day 2 and it's all thanks to Felix Schulze. On a board reading {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts} with around 65,000 chips already in the middle, Schulze and Sinclair got the rest of their stacks in the middle after a couple of raises.

Sinclair opened {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a set of eights while Schulze held {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. The river brought the {9-Clubs} and Schulze made a straight to double up through Schulze. The all-in amount was for 88,400 and Sinclair was forced to slide over the majority of his stack.

King-High Good for Madsen

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The action folded to Ismael Bojang on the button who made it 4,000 to go. Jeff Madsen three-bet to 14,300 in the small blind and Paulius Vaitiekunas folded his big blind. Bojang called and the dealer spread the flop of {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}.

Both players checked to the {q-Clubs} on the turn and the {5-Hearts} on the river. Two more checks and Madsen flipped over {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts} which got a fold from Bojang.
