A Double on the Bubble

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 12,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Artan Dedusha fired three smaller bets on a board of {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs} and was called down by Mikkel Plum. Dedusha tabled the {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} which Plum had beat with the {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} for the superior kicker.

Over on the other table, Julien Martini raised and called the button shove by Nicolas Bokowski.

"Do you have ace-king?" Martini asked and Bokowski shook his head. When Martini flashed his cards, Bokowski played disgust but the cards were only turned over when the other hand was completed.

Nicolas Bokowski: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Julien Martini: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}

"You deserve the double-up just for that," Martini joked to his opponent for the little lesson in drama. The board ran out {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Bokowski indeed doubled.
