Flush Over Flush for Aerts

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, Stefan Aerts led out with a bet of 13,000 into a pot of around 20,000. Jakub Michalak called and the {2-Clubs} rolled off on the river.

Aerts paused for a moment before jamming all in for 37,600. Michalak instantly slid in a chip to signify a call. Aerts turned over {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for the nut flush while Michalak held {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a smaller flush.

Anil Ataoglu opened to 3,500 in early position and Toni Kaukua made a large three-bet to 28,000 from a couple of seats over. The action folded back to Ataoglu who called to see a flop of {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}.

Both players checked and the {a-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Ataoglu checked again and Kaukua tossed in a bet of 11,000. Ataoglu called and the {7-Spades} completed the board. Both players knuckled the table and Kaukua tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for the best hand.

Refos Doubles Through Madanzhiev

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Raoul Refos
Raoul Refos

It only took a couple of preflop raises for Raoul Refos and Stoyan Madanzhiev to get all of their chips in the middle preflop. Refos was the player at risk for 34,700 but was in great shape to double up.

Raoul Refos: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Stoyan Madanzhiev: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

The flop fell {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} to give Madanzhiev a pair of jacks and some hope. However, the {k-Spades} on the turn and the {3-Clubs} on the river gave Refos the double up, leaving Madanzhiev on the short stack.
