Maurizio Melara Eliminated in 18th Place (€1,906)

Level 24 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Maurizio Melara
Maurizio Melara

Maurizio Melara had previously folded to a flop bet by Martin Kabrhel during which the latter predicted he would bust the Italian. As it turned out, that was just delayed as Melara got it in soon after against none other than Kabrhel.

Maurizio Melara: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Martin Kabrhel: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}

The {8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} board kept Kabrhel's aces in the lead as he made a full house. Melara's run ends in 18th place and he collects €1,906 for the efforts.

Hemmert Doubles Through Slabyk

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Taras Slabyk tangled with Udo Hemmert and was immediately disappointed when the cards were flipped over.

Udo Hemmert: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Taras Slabyk: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs}

On the {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop, Hemmert essentially locked up the double and the {5-Clubs} turn made things official as a meaningless {j-Hearts} rolled off on the river.

Feng Doubles Through Zech

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

With half of their stacks already in, the flop brought {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Quirin Zech was all-in from the big blind. Zhao Feng called all-in for 175,000 in the cutoff to trigger the following all-in showdown.

Zhao Feng: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Quirin Zech: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

The {8-Clubs} turn locked up the double for Feng and the {8-Spades} river didn't matter.

Blaz Zerjav Eliminated in 22nd Place (€1,906)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Blaz Zerjav
Blaz Zerjav

Blaz Zerjav min-raised to 40,000 and Tobias Peters three-bet to 130,000. Zerjav potted to 415,000 and Peters eventually called as they headed to the {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop. The shove by Zerjav for around 900,000 followed and Peters beat him into the pot.

Blaz Zerjav: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Tobias Peters: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Even before he could see the cards of Peters, the Slovenian was depleted and knew he needed a lot of help.

It was all over after the {k-Spades} turn and the {3-Spades} river became a mere formality.

"Merry Christmas and happy new year," one player at the table remarked while Peters was busy stacking up a ton of chips.
