Cech Doubles-Up Trough Budac

Vitezslav Cech moved all in from under the gun with his last 840,000 chips, and right after, Stepan Budac, still recovering from a big loss in the previous hand, re-shoved with 600,000 more chips. Dmitrij Fadeev took some time, and asked for a count, but eventually folded. It was time for a heads-up showdown.

Budac needed to improve to knock out Cech, but the board ran out 2♥9♣6♦2♠6♣, offering no help. Cech secured the double-up, much to his relief, staying alive in the tournament.

Georg Strebel raised to 325,000 in middle position and the action folded to Stepan Budac in the big blind. He tossed in the rest of his 440,000 chips and Strebel called it off.

Strebel congratulated his opponent while the J♥2♠K♦2♦A♥ runout secured Budac his double-up.

One hand later, Budac pushed all in from the small blind for 1,220,000. Big blind Dmitrij Fadeev asked for a count and made a call after hearing the correct number.

Jozsef Dobos raised to 400,000 on the button with Q♥3♥ and was called by Rostyslav Sabishchenko in the big blind, who defended his 9♥8♣.

Dobos continued for 250,000 on the 6♥A♣9♣ flop and Sabischenko check-called. The Q♦ turn was checked through before the Q♣ river gave Dobos trips.

Sabischenko checked to him, after which the Dobos bet 600,000. Sabischenko mulled things over for a good while but eventually called off with his two pair.

Dobos tabled his hand, raking in the pot when Sabischenko mucked his cards.
