Sabishchenko Scores Crucial Double Up
Level 38
: Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
From under the gun, Daniel Trunk opened the action with a raise to 1,300,000, holding a strong Q♥Q♦. Rostyslav Sabishchenko, sitting with 5,700,000 in chips, saw his opportunity and pushed all in with A♦9♣. Trunk quickly called, setting up a showdown.
The flop came J♦10♠4♣, not doing much to change the situation, with Trunk’s queens still in the lead. However, the turn brought the crucial A♠, giving Sabishchenko top pair and flipping the script.
Now needing a queen or king to knock Sabishchenko out, Trunk anxiously awaited the river. But luck wasn't on his side, as the J♠ hit, sealing Sabishchenko's double-up and keeping his tournament run alive.
