Oikonomou Sends Astedt Into Minutes-Long Tank

Elmir Ndoj raised to 1,200 under the gun. Niklas Astedt three-bet to 3,500 in middle position and was called by Panagiotis Oikonomou on the button and Arturo Paduano in the big blind.

Ndoj also tossed in the extra chips, after which a flop of Q♦2♦J♠ was dealt. It checked to Astedt, who bet 2,500. Oikonomou was the only caller as Ndoj mucked 7♥7♦ and Paduano folded 10♠10♦.

The 5♣ turn went check-check and Astedt checked again on the 9♦ river. Oikonomou fired a big bet of 12,600 and Astedt mulled it over for a long time before finally deciding to call.

Oikonomou turned over 9♥9♣ for a rivered set, beating Astedt's hero call with K♦J♥ for second pair.

Elmir Ndoj opened from middle position to 1,500 and Niklas Astedt three-bet the cutoff to 4,500. When it got back to Ndoj, he called.

Both players checked it down to the river on the 7♦4♣6♠10♥J♥ runout where Ndoj fired a bet of 4,000. Astedt momentarily paused but elected to fold, and Ndoj took the pot.

Ran Shahar then four-bet to 10,000 from middle position, which forced a quick fold from Nevalainen. Madani quickly five-bet jammed for roughly 54,000 and Shahar took no time at all to fold.

Klas Krueger raised to 1,500 in middle position with A♦K♥ and was called by Tom-Aksel Bedell on the button, who had J♣9♥. Fariss Ebolheb, finding A♣K♠, three-bet to 4,900 in the small blind before Brandon Sheils put in a fourth bet worth 12,600 with A♥K♣.

Krueger got rid of his cards and Bedell folded as well. Ebolheb called to the 10♣5♥7♦ flop, where Sheils continued for 6,300. Ebolheb check-called and the 4♠ turn was put on the table.

After some consideration, Ebolheb checked again, seeing Sheils check back. The 10♠ river completed the board, where Ebolheb pushed in a bet of 17,000.

Sheils weighed his options carefully but ultimately decided to fold what would have been a chopped pot. Ebolheb raked in the big pot as the only one out of the three players with ace-king to see a return on their investment.

Gerald Eisele opened from the hijack to 1,200. Sirzat Hissou called on the button and Rene Baranek defended the big blind.

The flop of 6♠6♥Q♣ saw a check from Baranek and a bet of 2,000 from Eisele. Hissou and Baranek called. The A♠ saw checks from Baranek and Eisele, prompting Hissou to bet 5,500. Baranek called before Eisele put in the check-raise to 27,000.

Hissou went into the tank before folding. Baranek moved all in and Eisele called.

Eisele turned top boat and the 7♣ eliminated Baranek from the tournament.

On a board of 6♠8♦Q♣4♦ Francesco Rinaldi bet 15,500 from the big blind and Cheng Zhao called from the hijack.

Rinaldi put Zhao all-in for 38,000 upon seeing the K♣ river, and Zhao went deep into the tank. After thinking it over for a few moments, Zhao pushed his chips into the middle to call.

Rinaldi turned over A♥J♥ for a bluff, as Zhao tabled third pair with 8♥7♥ to earn him the double up.

After a while in the tank, Rapolti elected to fold, which earned Vesco the pot.

Tom-Aksel Bedell made a raise to 1,200 in middle position. Brandon Sheils then three-bet to 4,000 in the cutoff. Bedell came along to a flop of 7♦A♠8♦, which he checked to Sheils.

Sheils continued for 2,500 and Bedell check-raised to 10,500. Sheils called, after which Bedell fired 5,100 on the 4♦ turn.

Sheils called the down-sized bet and the 4♠ hit the river. Bedell tossed in 16,500, which Sheils called after some thinking time.

Bedell opened A♥8♥ for two pair, but it was no match for Sheils' A♦9♦, who had turned the nut flush.
