Eychenne’s Straight Leaves Lormel Jacks’d Up and Out!

Thomas Eychenne started the action with a raise to 40,000 from the hijack, but Yann Lormel quickly pushed all in from the cutoff for 220,000. After some contemplation, Eychenne made the call, and they went to a showdown.

Lormel revealed A♣J♠, while Eychenne showed 9♥8♥. With Lormel currently in the lead, Eychenne needed some help from the board. The flop of 7♥9♦10♥ was a good start for him, giving him a pair of nines along with a flush draw.

Now it was Lormel’s turn to seek assistance from the board, but the 10♣ on the turn didn’t change anything for him.

However, the river brought the J♣, giving Lormel a better pair. But Eychenne had struck gold, hitting a straight, and he sent Lormel to the rail.
