Set Over Set Goes Heredia's Way
Pablo Heredia just got the perfect start to his final table.
He raised to 85,000 from the hijack and Ioannis Chorianopoulos called on the button. Pawel Wojciechowski was in the big blind and also called.
The trio watched a flop of 5♦Q♣3♥ hit the baize and when it checked to Chorianopoulos, he fired 85,000. Wojciechowski stuck in a raise to 250,000, Heredia called, and Chorianopoulos elected to get out of the way, letting his two opponents tangle.
When the 7♠ fell on the turn, Wojciechowski bet 200,000 and not long after, Heredia shoved for 620,000.
"This is so sick. You have pocket queens?" asked Wojciechowski before he called.
Pablo Heredia: Q♥Q♦
Pawel Wojciechowski: 5♠5♥
Indeed it was pocket queens for Beltran, which meant the two had both flopped a set! Wojciechowski couldn't believe it, but there was still a way that the hand could become even sicker as he had a single out to scoop the pot.
Unfortunately for him, that didn't come on this occasion as the 3♣ on the river gave both players a full house, but Heredia's was better so he doubled up.
