Spataru Doubles With Queens
Level 29
: 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Andrei Spataru opened to 400,000 from early position and Daniel Elhaiany called on the button.
The flop came 7♠8♦5♦ and Spataru checked it over, then Elhaiany shoved. Spataru snap-called for his 2,050,000.
Andrei Spataru: Q♥Q♦
Daniel Elhaiany: A♠5♠
Both players had a pair, but Spataru's was bigger with queens. Elhaiany was looking to boost his stack early and thin the field, but the 9♠4♣ runout didn't improve him, which meant Spataru doubled up.
