Deeb Doesn’t Get There
Level 9
: Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Shaun Deeb opened from the hijack to 6,000 and picked up two callers, Landon Tice on the button and Andy Tsai in the big blind.
All three players checked the 7♦Q♦K♥ flop.
On the 3♠ turn, Deeb bet 20,000. Tice folded, but Tsai check-raised all in for 70,500. Deeb snap-called.
Tsai showed K♣9♠, while Deeb tabled 5♦4♦. “Oh, so you have ‘I’ll get there cards’,” Tice joked after they had already been chatting for a few minutes.
The river came 8♣, with no help for Deeb, and Tsai doubled up. “But not this time,” Tice said with a grin.
