Ladies Lead to Lang's Demise

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Mike Lang
Mike Lang

Toby Lewis raised from early position and was met by a three-bet to roughly 3,500 from Mike Lang in the hijack. Action folded back to Lewis and he four-bet to 8,500, which Lang opted just to call.

When the flop came down {7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Spades}, Lewis continued for 4,000 and Lang, who earlier in the series won the 2019 Wynn Winter Classic Seniors Event, raised all in for approximately 20,000. Lewis snap-called and Lang discovered the bad news.

Mike Lang: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Toby Lewis: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Lang's ladies were no good and he failed to get lucky as the {3-Diamonds} bricked on the turn followed by the {a-Clubs} on the river.

Heyden Finishes Off Cheng

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

Wen Chang was all in preflop for his last 12,000 and in dire straits against David Heyden.

Wen Chang: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
David Heyden: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

The {3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{k-Spades} flop delivered the case ace which meant Chang needed to catch running cards to make Broadway. The {3-Spades} turn took away any chance of that happening as it gave Heyden aces full.

The meaningless {10-Hearts} was run out on the river and Chang hit the rail.

Big Pot for Laplante

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Ryan Laplante
Ryan Laplante

Ryan Laplante opened for 700 from early position and the player to his direct left called. Josh Ray then three-bet to 3,800 from the small blind, both Laplante and the other player called, and it was three-way action to the {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} flop, which the trio checked.

After the dealer burned and turned the {4-Hearts}, Ray checked and Laplante bet 4,200. Both his opponents called and it was off to the {j-Clubs} river.

Ray checked, Laplante bet a pot-sized 22,800, and the player to his left folded what he later claimed was king-nine. Ray thought long and hard before making the call only to muck when Laplante rolled over the {j-Spades}{10-Spades} for jacks full of nines.

Clark Gets Run Over By Calderaro's Boat

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Matt Clark
Matt Clark

Matt Clark put in a raise from the hijack only to have James Calderaro three-bet to 2,600 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Clark and he pushed back to the tune of 9,000, which Calderaro thought long and hard about before calling.

When the flop fell {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}, Clark jammed his last 12,900 and Calderaro snapped him off.

Matt Clark: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
James Calderaro: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Clark picked the wrong time to bluff as Calderaro had flopped tens full. The {8-Hearts} turn left Clark drawing dead and he headed for the exit after the {3-Diamonds} was run out on the river.

Clock Called on Palmer

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

We happened upon the action with around 30,000 in the pot and a board reading {9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Ryan Laplante had bet a pair of T25,000 chips from the big blind and Ben Palmer, who was on the button, was debating what to do with the 41,000 he had back.

Minutes passed before Palmer said that someone was welcome to call clock. About a minute later, Laplante obliged and called the clock. The floor arrived and gave Palmer 30 seconds to act with the last five seconds being counted down.

5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Fold.

The timer expired on Palmer and his hand was dead. Laplante then showed just the {a-Clubs} before pulling in the pot.
