Kahle Burns
Kahle Burns

Kahle Burns got his stack of 350,000 all in preflop and was racing for his tournament life against Ron West.

Kahle Burns: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Ron West: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Burns was just looking to hold to score the double, and that's exactly what he did when the board ran out {5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs} to give him a full boat.

The Stammdogg Burns

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Keven Stammen
Keven Stammen

Action folded to WPT champ Keven Stammen, the last player to register this tournament, was on the button and he raised to 35,000, which Robert Fallon and Kahle Burns called from the small and big blinds respectively and the flop came down {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

Two checks saw Stammen continue for 50,000, Fallon folded, and Burns called. When the {9-Hearts} paired the board on the turn, Burns led out for 75,000 and called when Stammen raised all in for approximately 240,000.

Keven Stammen: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Kahle Burns: {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}

Burns turned trips and he sent Stammen to the rail in 38th place after the {8-Hearts} was put out on the river.

No One Wants to Play With Rocco

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Michael Rocco
Michael Rocco

Michael Rocco took down back-to-back pots without even showing his cards. In the first hand the under-the-gun player raised it 32,000 and was three-bet to 107,000 from Rocco in the next seat over. With action back on the original raiser he sent his cards to the muck.

In the very next hand Rocco was the first to act and min-raised to 32,000, which was enough to take down the blinds and ante.

Yorra Doubles Through Song-Carrillo

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Matthew Yorra
Matthew Yorra

Matthew Yorra shoved his last 215,000, and from the next seat over Leonardo Song-Carrillo shoved behind, which prompted folds from the remaining players.

Matthew Yorra: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Leonardo Song-Carrillo: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Yorra was behind preflop but had two overcards that he was hoping to hit, which he did on the {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{a-Hearts} flop. The {q-Diamonds} improved his hand even more and the {9-Clubs} ensured that he wouldn't be headed to the payout desk just yet.

Laplante Bows Out in 36th Place

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Ryan Laplante
Ryan Laplante

After a raise in front of him, Austin Yoo three-bet only to have Ryan Laplante four-bet it. The initial raiser folded, Yoo five-bet jammed, and Laplante called off for approximately 430,000.

Ryan Laplante: {j-}{j-}
Austin Yoo: {k-}{k-}

Laplante had the weaker pocket pair and it cost him his tournament life after the board ran out dry as a whistle. Laplante took home $15,101 for his 36th-place finish.

Jazayeri Gets One-Outed

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Sean  Jazayeri
Sean Jazayeri

Leonardo Song-Carrillo raised to 35,000. Sean Jazayeri then three-bet shoved for 215,000, and with action back on Song-Carrillo he made the call.

Sean Jazayeri: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Song Carrillo: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

The {5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{k-Spades} flop was a favorable one for Jazayeri but still kept Song-Carrillo slightly ahead. The {a-Spades} on the turn gave Jazayeri the lead, but Carrillo spiked the {7-Hearts} on the river, which was the only card he could hit to eliminate Jazayeri from the tournament very late in the last level on day 2.
