Pim Gieles Eliminated in 22nd Place ($31,704)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Pim Gieles
Pim Gieles

Just before the break, Tommy Tran limped the small blind and Pim Gieles checked his option from the big.

Both players then checked the {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop and the dealer burned and turned the {j-Clubs}.

Tran bet 150,000 and Gieles just called to see the {8-Spades} river.

Tran paused for a few beats before betting 850,000 and Gieles proceeded to jam all in for 2.17 million. Tran called and table the {9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for a rivered gutshot straight and it was good as Gieles showed the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for a slow-played two pair.

Travis Sargent Eliminated in 21st Place ($31,704)

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Travis Sargent
Travis Sargent

Jorge Consiglieri raised to 200,000 from middle position, Travis Sargent three-bet jammed for 555,000 from the hijack and Brian Hastings came over the top from the cutoff.

Action was on Shachar Haran who called off his 1,550,000 stack from the big blind and Consiglieri tossed his hand into the muck.

Travis Sargent: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Shachar Haran: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Brian Hastings: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Each player held a made hand with Haran holding the best one and nothing changed after the {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} runout as he collected the double-plus some while Sargent made his exit in 21st place for $31,704.

Matt Waxman Eliminated in 20th Place ($41,420)

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Matt Waxman
Matt Waxman

There was around 1.4 million in the pot and a board reading {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} when Shachar Haran checked from the blind and Matt Waxman bet 300,000 from late position, which left with him around 1.4 million back.

Haran responded by check-raising all in and Waxman hit the tank hard. Several minutes passed as he talked aloud, stating he believed Haran had a flush draw. Waxman eventually called off and his read was accurate.

Shachar Haran: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Matt Waxman: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

Haran had a straight draw as well, not to mention his ace over, and unfortunately for Waxman his strong call was not rewarded as the {2-Diamonds} spiked on the river. Haran made the flush and Waxman was sent to the rail.

Lilius and Eychenne Square Off in Biggest Pot of Tournament Thus Far

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Thomas Eychenne
Thomas Eychenne

Taus Lilius raised under the gun and Thomas Eychenne three-bet to 680,000 from the button. Both blinds folded and Lilius pushed back by making it 1.15 million to go.

Eychenne thought for a bit before just calling and the flop came down {4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

Lilius continued for 650,000 and Eychenne called to see the {j-Spades} turn.

This time Lilius came out with a bet of 1.5 million and Eychenne tanked for a few minutes before calling, which left him 2.2 million behind.

After the {4-Clubs} paired the board on the river, Lilius announced he was all in and Eychenne quickly flicked in a chip to signify a call.

Lilius was caught bluffing with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Eychenne showed {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} for slow-played pocket rockets.

"Nicely played," Lilius offered as he sent over a big chunk of his stack in what was the biggest pot of the tournament thus far.

Valerie Novak Eliminated in 19th Place ($41,420)

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Valerie Novak
Valerie Novak

Shachar Haran raised from the cutoff and then called the three-bet jam Valerie Novak made from the small blind for roughly one million.

Valerie Novak: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Shachar Haran: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Novak was racing for her tournament but couldn't take the lead as the {2-Spades}{6-Spades}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} runout gave Haran a set of nines and ended her tournament in 19th place for $41,420.

Brian Hastings Eliminated in 18th Place ($41,420)

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Brian Hastings
Brian Hastings

Chris Smith open-jammed for roughly 1,000,000 from early position and action folded to Brian Hastings who called off his stack holding less from the big blind.

Brian Hastings: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Chris Smith: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Hasting was racing for his tournament and fell behind after the {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{q-Hearts} flop gave Smith top two-pair.

The {10-Clubs} turn left Hastings needing a nine, but the river came the {a-Spades}, improving Smith to a full house and ending the four-time WSOP bracelet winners tournament in 18th place $41,420.

Kevin McKenzie

Chris O'Neil raised to 200,000 from early position and then snap-called after Kevin McKenzie three-bet jammed for approximately 1.8 million from the cutoff.

Kevin McKenzie: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Chris O'Neil: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {2-Clubs}{k-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and that was all she wrote for McKenzie, who was left drawing dead after the turn.
