Who Will Reach the Final Table in the $3,500 Main Event?

Chips and Cards
Chips and Cards

There will be 19 players returning to the felt today in the $3,500 Main Event at the 2023 Wynn Millions and they will all have one goal in mind...reach the final table and return for Day 6. That is when the big money will be up for grabs with the lion's share of the $4,171,950 prize pool handed out on the final day of the event.

First, they will have to navigate their way through the tough field that is still in contention on Day 5. Coming in as the overall chip leader is Andrew Esposito who currently holds a comfortable lead with 5,715,000 chips. Esposito showed off an exceptional comeback after being down to around 10 big blinds earlier on Day 4, but managed to finish on top of the leaderboard. The young lad from Texas will be looking to record the largest poker score of his young career over the next two days.

It won't be easy for Esposito as he will have some tough competition among the remaining players still in the event. Zachary Donovan is not far behind him at 4,320,000 chips and has been one of the most consistent players still remaining. And then rounding out the top three is the unpredictable Cliff Ziff who bagged up 3,825,000 chips.

The cards will go in the air at 12 p.m. noon local time and there will be many others to keep an eye on as the day unfolds. The blinds will resume on level 25 at 30,000/60,000 and a 60,000 big blind ante. Each player has locked up at least $32,510 thus far but the pay jumps will become even more significant as the tournament progresses. The scheduled plan is to play down to the final nine players, but that number could change based on the pace of play.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be with you every step of the way to catch all of the big hands and eliminations en route to the final table.

Yuval Bronshtein

Andrew Esposito raised to 125,000 on the button and Yuval Bronshtein three-bet to 505,000 out of the big blind, leaving just a few chips behind. Esposito quickly reraised and Bronshtein glanced at the clock before stick in the last of his chips.

Yuval Bronshtein: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Andrew Esposito: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

It turned out to be a coin flip and the flop of {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} left Esposito in the lead with his pair of nines. The {2-Clubs} on the turn narrowed Bronshtein's outs and the {10-Diamonds} river bricked out as well.

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Michael Dyer
Michael Dyer

The action folded to Michael Dyer on the button who opened for 120,000 and only Zachary Donovan made the call in the small blind.

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and both players checked their options to the {5-Diamonds} turn. Donovan checked again and Dyer tossed out a bet of 90,000, which Donovan quickly called.

On the {9-Diamonds} river Donovan checked a third time and Dyer elected on a size of 360,000. Donovan took some time, but in the end slid forward chips to make the call.

Dyer tabled {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for the ace-high flush and scored another sizable pot when Donovan mucked his hand.

Michael Rossitto open-jammed from early position to 535,000 and Ronald Sullivan next to act made the call for his last 360,000. It folded around to Michael Dyer in the big blind who also made the call to put both players at risk.

Ronald Sullivan: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Michael Rossitto: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Michael Dyer: {k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

The board ran out {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and the nine on turn locked up the hand for Rossitto to score the almost triple up and send Sullivan to the exit in 18th place.

Joseph Sabe
Joseph Sabe

The action folded to Cliff Ziff in the hijack who opened to 225,000 and Joseph Sabe moved all in for just over 1,800,000 next to act. The rest of the table got out of the way and Ziff called to put Sabe at risk.

Joseph Sabe: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Cliff Ziff: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Sabe was in need of help against the better ace for Ziff, and when the board ran out {q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades}, it was the ace-jack that scored the pot and sent Sabe to the payout desk in 17th place.

Orestis Kanakopoulos
Orestis Kanakopoulos

Andrew Esposito opened to 180,000 in middle position and Orestis Kanakopoulos three-bet to 550,000 on the button. Esposito called and the dealer fanned the flop of {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Esposito checked to Kanakopoulos who bet 350,000. Esposito check-raised to 1,250,000 and Kanakopoulos called.

The {2-Hearts} peeled off on the turn and Esposito checked again. Kanakopoulos jammed all in for 1,635,000 which put Esposito in the tank. The hand was already eight minutes long and Mark Zajdner had enough as he called the clock once again. Esposito was granted another minute before the clock started. In the last couple of seconds, Esposito flicked in a chip to call as the entire table rose to their feet.

Esposito turned over {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} while Kanakopoulos needed some help with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. The river was the {8-Clubs} and Esposito clapped his hands together while others congratulated him on the call. Kanakopoulos was eliminated, bringing the field down to just 15 players.

The action folded to Kristen Deardorff on the button who made it 250,000. Jacob Powers instantly shoved all in from the big blind and Deardorff waited for her rail to get the cameras ready before she called off her stack of 2,900,000.

Kristen Deardorff: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Jacob Powers: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

It was a huge coin flip and the flop of {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} put Powers in the lead. The {7-Clubs} on the turn gave Deardorff a flush draw but the {a-Spades} on the river improved Powers to a full house.

Michael Dyer Eliminated In 12th Place ($49,615)

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Michael Dyer
Michael Dyer

The action was picked up in a pot of roughly 1,300,000 on a board showing {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Cliff Ziff checked from the big blind to Michael Dyer in the cutoff who slid out a bet of 800,000. Ziff took a moment before announcing all in, covering the 2,100,000 behind for Dyer, who snap-called.

Michael Dyer: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Cliff Ziff: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Dyer looked sick to his stomach when he realized he had misread his hand thinking it was {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a turned straight. Ziff would still need to dodge a ton of outs to score the pot and when the river fell the {9-Hearts}, the jacks and sevens held up to send Dyer to the rail in 12th place.
