Royal Flush Jackpot

As any casino goer will be painfully aware of, jackpot wins while playing live are often very few and far between. That being said, guests at Rivers Casino Philadelphia in recent weeks have been hitting them like there's no tomorrow, with a near $700,000 Ultimate Texas Hold'em score the latest in a long list of big wins.

What is Ultimate Texas Hold'em?

Ultimate Texas Hold'em is a player vs. dealer table game that gained widespread popularity across the US, and has since been implemented in both land-based and online casinos across the globe.

Player must post an ante and a blind before each hand begins, both of which must be the same size. Each player, as well as the dealer, receives two hole cards, similarly to classic Texas Hold'em, and players can decide to bet three times or four times the Ante, or check before the flop is dealt.

On the flop, players have an option whether to bet two times the Ante, or check once again. The turn and river are dealt together, and players will have one last option on whether to place a bet equal to the Ante, or to fold the hand. Every player that beats the dealer by the river gets paid out according to their bets. Players whose holdings are inferior to the dealer loses their stake.

The Jackpot

As with any table game, UTH has plenty of side bet options, including the mandatory blind bet, trips, as well as a progressive bet. It was the latter which hit in Philadelphia to score one lucky guest in from New Jersey a whopping $699,582.

This pay day came from a $5 Royal Flush multi-game progressive. In order to return home with the ever-increasing progressive jackpot, a player must flop a Royal Flush, and that's exactly what happened as the bettor held the ace and king of clubs, before the queen, jack and 10 of the same suit were dealt on the flop, securing the mammoth jackpot.

Including additional side bets that he had placed, the total win from the bet amounted to more than $725,000, and four other players at the table secured $5,000 each thanks to the Envy Bonus. The Mega Jackpot at the casino is a shared jackpot between all Ultimate Texas Hold ’Em, Mississippi Stud and Three Card Poker tables in the venue. It has since been reset, and stands at over $250,000.

Rivers Philadelphia on a Hot Streak

This was the second time in a matter of weeks that a near $700,000 score, one of the largest in Rivers Casino Philadelphia history, was paid out, as the land-based representative of BetRivers Casino saw a jackpot of $694,124 won on the Royal 9 Baccarat progressive on Saturday, August 29. The jackpot is now over $235,000 after having been reset.

Not only that, but since then two guests scored six-figure jackpots whilst playing slots at the casino. The Dollar Storm Super Grand Jackpot paid nearly $136,000, and the Lightning Link Grand Jackpot hit for more than $108,000, meaning that over $1.6 million has been paid out in jackpots since August 29.

On the other side of the state, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh has also seen its fair share of jackpots, including a seven-figure Pai Gow progressive that was hit mere weeks ago.
