Remko Rinkema

Remko Rinkema hails from the Netherlands and discovered the game of poker while attending high school in the picturesque city of Leeuwarden. A passion for writing and sports lead him to cover his first poker tournament in the fall of 2008, the Master Classics of Poker in Amsterdam.

For the Dutch PokerNews website, the second biggest behind the mother site, Remko covered poker tournaments all over Europe and the World Series of Poker from 2009 onwards. In the fall of 2011, Remko expanded his horizon and covered the WSOP Europe for the international PokerNews website, which ultimately lead to becoming a part of the PokerNews Live Reporting team during the WSOP in Las Vegas.

Since becoming a freelancer in August 2012, Remko has covered APPT, ACOP, ANZPT, EPT and Aussie Millions events for PokerNews. Besides reporting on over 250 poker tournaments for PokerNews, Remko has made quite a name for himself interviewing some of the biggest stars in the game, appearing on numerous podcasts, in videos and covering WPT, WSOP Circuit, Unibet Open, CPPT, BPS and Venetian Deepstack tournaments.

The versatile Dutchman has traveled the world continuously since 2008. Today, he's working with Poker Central.
