Shak Won't Back Down

Level 20 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

Dan Shak raised to 175,000 on the button holding {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Fabian Quoss defended his big blind with {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, and the flop fell {3-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs}, giving the German flush and straight draws.

Quoss checked, Shak continued for 225,000, and Quoss called. Quoss then led out for 500,000 when the {10-Spades} turned, and Shak reached for green T25,000 chips. He thought for a minute or so, then called.

The {a-Spades} completed the board, missing Quoss’ draws once again, and both players checked. Shak tabled his hand triumphantly, raking in the pot, and Quoss gave a small chuckle.
