The Mouth Sewn Shut

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante
Scott Waltenburg (L) & Mike Matusow
Scott Waltenburg (L) & Mike Matusow

Scott Waltenburg, who hails from Northbrook, Illinois, opened the action with a raise and Mike "The Mouth" Matusow called from middle position. The rest of the players folded and it was heads-up action to the {2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop.

Waltenburg proceeded to check-call a bet before checking the {9-Spades} turn. Matusow took the opportunity to move all in for his last 12,000 or so, and he didn't seem too excited when Waltenburg announced a call.

Matusow: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Waltenburg: {10-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Matusow had picked a bad time to shove, but he still had outs as either a jack, ace or eight would give him the win. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {K-Clubs}. It was a blank for Matusow, and the usually boisterous player ended his 2014 WSOP by wishing the table luck and exiting the tournament area.
