A Deal Has Been Made

Level 16 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

The players came to the decision to make a deal relatively quickly and APPT President Danny McDonagh started the paperwork. As things were getting written up, Quan Zhou was told that because of the deal, he would only be eligible for third place points for the Asia Player of the Year race.

Zhou is actively playing for the title and when he found out he would only get third-place points, he wanted to stop the deal. McDonagh explained that once a deal begins, the points are frozen so back end deals between players can't be made. This means Zhou could choose not to do the deal, but first- and second-place points would still not be available.

In the end, he willingly agreed to a deal based on the independent chip model (ICM). The players agreed to the following:
Quan Zhou with 2,745,000 chips will receive HK$1,275,000, Chen Wang with 1,650,000 chips will receive HK$1,078,000 and JJ Liu with 1,505,000 chips will receive HK$1,047,000. The players will be playing for the remaining HK$373,000.
