online poker generic

Sunday’s action in major online poker tournaments found two players wrapping up the night’s play with nearly identical champion’s paydays. "master zulle" ran through a deep field in the PokerStars Sunday Million for the win worth $184,500, just edging the $184,000 "TheNutters" pulled down in the Full Tilt $1 Million Guarantee for the weekend’s biggest cash. Here’s more on these and other events:

PokerStars Sunday Million

The PokerStars Sunday Million drew 1,984 participants this weekend, falling just short of its $1.5 million guarantee prize pool. Notable finishes in the tournament included Keven “Stammdogg” Stammen in 39th place ($2,550), Marc “OMGSHIPIT” Davis in 46th ($2,400), Joel “SpadeSkillz” Dickerson in 54th ($2,400) and Taylor “ElMastermind” McFarland in 62nd ($2,250). The chip counts at the start of the final table were as follows:

Scott “SCTrojans” Freeman — 14,260,000
master zulle — 12,293,597
Germaniac2 — 10,814,756
MissStax — 9,542,951
Gabe “gp333” Patgorski — 9,270,515
Uninc157 — 5,071,042
Der Patient — 4,276,770
Casey “monk-dogg” McCarrel — 3,042,914
anybody1108 — 1,637,455

Gabe “gp333” Patgorski was the first finalist to depart, during the 100,000/200,000/20,000 level. He raised to 530,000 from under the gun and Scott “SCTrojans” Freeman re-raised to 1,460,000 from the small blind. Patgorski went all in for 3,679,473 and Freeman called with AK, racing against Patgorski’s 1010. The board came AQ8K2 as Gabe “gp333” Patgorski finished in ninth for $10,500.

Casey “monk-dogg” McCarrel busted at 125,000/250,000/25,000 when he ran A10 into Scott Freeman’s AQ. The board fell 288J3 and McCarrel exited in eighth place with $17,250. Two hands later anybody1108 joined him. After shoving from the cutoff for 2,232,892 with 86, anybody1108 saw master zulle call from the small blind with AA. An ace hit the flop and another came on the turn, making quads for master zulle. For the seventh-place showing anybody1108 pocketed $26,250.

MissStax was the next to exit, at 150,000/300,000/30,000. From the cutoff MissStax raised to 1,200,000 and master zulle called on the button, bringing a J3J flop. MissStax shoved for 2,901,091 and master zulle called with KQ, ahead in percentage terms against MissStax’s 66. The 9 turn still left master zulle plenty of outs to win and the K river gave the pot to master zulle. MissStax earned $39,000 for sixth place. Der Patient’s tournament ended at 250,000/500,000/50,000. In the cutoff Der Patient shipped it in for 4,554,250 and Uninc157 isolated the action on the button with 66, which led Der Patient’s A5. The board rolled out 28Q65 as Der Patient was out in fifth place for $54,000.

Uninc157 busted next. From the cutoff Uninc157 made it 1,235,000 to go and master zulle called out of the big blind. The flop came 7104 and master zulle check-called a bet of 1,735,000. The 6 hit the turn and master zulle again checked. Uninc157 fired out a bet of 3,487,500, whiich master zulle raised to 7,749,000. Uninc157 went all in for 12,754,879 and master zulle called with K8, having the hand clinched against Uninc157’s 53 straight. The river was a meaningless Q as Uninc157 busted in fourth place for $69,000.

Germaniac2 fell in third place, losing a good amount of chips with pocket jacks to Scott “SCTrojans” Freeman’s pocket fours, while all in preflop. A four found the table and Germaniac2 became the short stack. A few hands later Germaniac2’s 65 could not best Freeman’s A10. For the third-place showing Germaniac2 collected $84,000. Scott “SCTrojans” Freeman began the heads-up duel slightly behind in chips, but managed to grab a hold of the lead. However fortune turned when his all-in shove on the turn with second pair was called by master zulle, who held top pair. Freeman did not hit the river and trailed 6:1 in chips.

The tournament came to a close at 300,000/600,000/60,000. A limped pot brought a flop of 10A5. Master zulle led out 600,000 and Freeman called. The 3 fell on the turn and master zulle bet 600,000 again. Freeman raised to 1,530,000 and master zulle called, delivering the 9 river. Master zulle went all in and put Freeman to a decision for his tournament life. Freeman shared his thoughts with his opponent, saying that he knew master zulle did not have an ace. Freeman felt that his opponent hit two pair, but opted to call anyway with JJ. Master zulle tabled 95 for the rivered two pair to win the tournament. Freeman earned $124,950 as the runner-up, with master zulle collecting $184,500 for winning the PokerStars Sunday Million.
