2012 PokerStars.net APPT Cebu Day 1c: Sang Yong Lee Tops Final Starting Day

Sang Yong Lee

The 2012 PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour Cebu is on to Day 2 after the final starting day completed on Friday. The field on Friday was 119-players strong, bringing the grand total to 246 for this year's event, besting last year's field of 236.

Topping Day 1c was Sang Yong Lee. He bagged up 106,400 in chips but will still behind Day 1b's Antonio Martins for the overall chip lead. Martins finished with 119,000 on Thursday. Not far behind Lee at the end of Day 1c were Wei Zhong Kua with 99,500 and Kenneth Leong with 90,000.

Some players who started the day but won’t be returning to the felt tomorrow include Gordon Huntly, Oliver Speidel, Steve Yea, Oliver Speidel, Heath Herring, Terrence Chan and Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang.

Chan went out near the end of the day when his pocket tens ran into pocket jacks for most of his chips. From there, he got the rest of his stack in with pocket nines against two opponents, one holding pocket tens and the other holding pocket jacks. The jacks won the pot to bust Chan.

Another few players who will return on Day 2 are Sangeeth Mohan (37,500), David Steicke (37,400) and Vincent Rubianes (17,000) fresh off his runner-up finish at the recent APPT Seoul.
