The Players Poker Championship (PPC) Poker Tour, which recently saw Robin Kazemieh defeat Joe Ebanks to win the 2013 PPC Aruba World Championship $2,500 Main Event, has announced that they will be headed back to The Silks Poker Room at Tampa Bay Downs from January 15-19, 2014 for the Tampa Downs Winter Fest.
“After an incredibly successful season for the PPC Poker Tour, we couldn’t be more excited to launch our new season at Tampa Bay Downs,” said Sandy Swartzbaugh, Commissioner for the PPC. “The players from the Tampa market have supported the tour tremendously from day one and two Tampa players final tabled the $2,500 Main Event in Aruba. Players will be able to win packages back to the PPC Aruba World Championship series in October 2014 that will garner $250,000 in guarantees.”
The 2014 Tampa Downs Winter Fest will consist of four events culminating in a $350 buy-in Main Event on Friday, January 17. The three-day event will boast a $50,000 guarantee and players will be allowed to buy into any of the four Day 1 sessions (1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday). They will then carry their largest stack into Day 2.
“Our relationship with the PPC Poker Tour continues to grow with each event,” said Patrick Murphy, Director of Poker at Tampa Bay Downs Silks Poker Room. “The excitement the tour generates is becoming a staple here at Silks Poker Room. The players that won packages to Aruba have been talking about the PPC Aruba ‘poker-cation’ non-stop. We are looking forward to a big year with the PPC.”
To help players plan there next PPC poker trip, 20% of the Tampa Downs Winter Fest prize pool will go toward entries into the PPC Aruba World Championship.
