The Hollywood Poker Open Toledo is Happening Now; $1,115 Main Event on Saturday

HPO Toledo

The Hollywood Poker Open (HPO), which is in its third season, kicked off last week at Hollywood Casino in Toledo, Ohio. The stop has hosted several "featured events," and already there have been some big winners including Benjamin Smith (Event #1), Christopher Lee (Event #3), and Jeff Greear (Event #4).

Greear topped a huge field of 599 entries in Event #4 $300 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack for a nice $34,727 payday. Other HPO Toledo winners include Michael Nejedlik (Event #8), Nicholas Valcke (Event #11), Harry Greenspan (Event #14), and Dennis Huguelet (Event #17). What's more, Armando Rivera became a two-time HPO champ by taking down both Event #2 and Event #15.

On Saturday, the stop will culminate with the $1,115 HPO Regional Main Event on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 12:15 p.m. Not only will the PokerNews Live Reporting Team be on hand to capture all the action, there will be some big names in the mix including Allen Kessler, Rex Clinkscales, and HPO Ambassador and 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Chris Moneymaker.

"PokerNews will have live coverage of the $1,115 Regional Main Event that begins on February 14, and our coverage will include our MyStack app," said PokerNews Editor-in-Chief Donnie Peters. "The MyStack app allows players to update their chip counts and tournament progress in real time, and all of the information feeds directly into our live reporting section. We highly encourage players to get involved using the PokerNews MyStack app, as it aims to bring tournament coverage to a new level."

Those in the Main Event will also be eligible for seat giveaways to the season-ending championship at the M Resort Casino Spa in Las Vegas. Last season, the HPO sent more than 200 promotional winners to the Championship Event, and that's the plan for Season 3.

"We plan to not only give away hundreds of seats to the Championship again, but we will also implement similar seat winner promotions to the Regional tournament series as well," said HPO Tournament Director Bill Bruce. "These HPO tournament fields are such a great mix of traveling poker professionals and local promotion winners which makes the tournaments really attractive to all levels of poker players."
