MPN Rolls Out a New Tournament Schedule, Four Card Fright Fest and a New Mac Client

Microgaming Poker Network (MPN)

The Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) is one of the few online poker networks that has grown in size in terms of cash game liquidity of the course of the past year. This growth is also evident in its tournaments as well.

The action is likely to continue to grow on MPN with the network — which includes 27 different poker clients — today introducing new tournaments with titles from some of its most popular casino games.

The network recently benefited after several poker rooms that were previously hosted on the what appears to be the now shutdown Ongame Network migrated to MPN, including RedKings.

The new tournaments span across a variety of buy-ins and guarantees. For example, low-stakes players will be able to enjoy tournaments including the €3,000 River of Riches (€11 buy-in) €1,500 Cashville (€11 buy-in) and the €750 Fantastic Four Omaha tournament with a €5.50 buy-in.

Additionally, some of the existing tournaments now have enhanced guarantees including the €2,500 Rather Rivoting Rebuy which features an €11 buy-in.

Mid-stakes players also have plenty of new tournaments to choose from including the €2,500 Megabyte (€30 buy-in) and the €2,000 The PLOt Thickens (€55 buy-in). Also their popular The Daily Mosh Pit now has a €10,000 guarantee for a €20 buy-in and this is doubled on Sundays to a €20,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Of course high-stakes players weren't left out of the mix. The €7,500 Gigabyte is a brand new daily tournament on the schedule with a €110 buy-in. The action heats up on Mondays and Thursdays with two tournaments with €215 buy-ins, including the €10,000 Monday Mega Moolah and the €10,000 Thunderstruck Thursday.

Sundays are even bigger for higher-stakes players with three familiar tournaments including the €5,000 Sunday Drive (€110 buy-in), the €25,000 Sunday Showdown (€215 buy-in) and the €60,000 Sunday Masters (€320 buy-in).

Tournament Festivals at MPN

In addition to the new excitement of the revamped tournament schedule, MPN will be hosting its second Four Card Fright Fest. The festival, inspired by Halloween, features 18 Omaha tournaments from Oct. 28 to Nov. 6, with buy-ins ranging from €1.10 to €55 and guaranteed prize pools as high as €5,000.

Cyber Mondays will come after all this action from Nov. 7-28. Each of the four Mondays the buy-ins for their new tournaments will be cut. In total more than €100,000 will be guaranteed during this promotion.

Mac Client Revamp

A few weeks ago, MPN rolled out a new Mac client for players on Guts.com exclusively. It appears the limited rollout was a success as it is now being launched throughout the network. According to Poker Industry Pro, the network previously had a Mac poker client; however, it was more limited in functionality when compared to the Windows version.
