The WPT500 returns to the United Kingdom this month with the £1 million guaranteed WPT500 London Main Event. The live festival runs from March 23-April 2 but thanks to 888poker partnering with the World Poker Tour, players can play a Day 1 online from the comfort of their homes.
March 11 is a first for the WPT500 because it marks the day that the first-ever online Day 1 flight takes place at 888poker. Players can buy in direct for $565 or try to win their seat from as little as a single cent. Everyone in the online Day 1 sits down with a 15,000 starting stack and plays to a blind structure that increases every 15-minutes.
Late registration is open until the end of the eighth level. Should anyone dust off their stack and lose all of their chips while late registration is open, it is possible to reenter for an additional $565.
WPT500 London Online Day 1 Specifics
Playing Day 1 of the WPT500 London online at 888poker is not only convenient, it is also potentially lucrative. The flight ends when only five percent of the total number of buy-ins remain in the field. Those players with chips in front of them when the flight ends progress to the live Day 2 at Aspers Westfield Stratford City and do so with $1,500 (£1,065) in prize money already locked up.
Anyone who finishes in the top eight percent of the field is awarded $1,100 which is credited to their 888poker accounts within 48 hours of the tournament’s end, while the remaining top 12 percent will be credited with $900 to their 888poker account.
You can still play some live Day 1s even if you progress to Day 2 from this online flight. In fact, it is possible to play as many Day 1s as you wish, but please bear in mind that you can only take your largest stack forwards with you to Day 2.
Day 2 takes place at Aspers Westfield Stratford City on April 1 with the final day and the champion crowned on April 2; the final table is set to be live streamed on 888poker’s media channels.
