PokerStars Sunday Million Anniversary: Take 2

PokerStars ran its Sunday Million Anniversary Take 2 tournament on Apr. 22 and the $10 million guarantee was not only reached, it was surpassed by more than $1.2 million.

Some 56,310 entries were processes which meant a prize pool of $11,262,000 was created. This gigantic sum is being shared among the top 9,296 finishers and the eventual champion will walk away with a cool $1,000,043 prize.

Norway’s “Bjorg0010” is the player who leads the way going into Day 2. The 7,159,399 chips in Bjorg0010’s stack is the most of the 735 remaining players, who are all guaranteed at least $1,102 for the efforts so far. Anyone reaching the final table will win $63,229 with the tournament’s champion becoming a millionaire.

Germany’s “pappadogg” emerged victorious from the PokerStars Sunday 500 after besting a star-studded final table that would not have looked out of place in a tournament of ten times the $530 buy-in.

First to bust from the final table was the former World Series of Poker Main Event champion Martin Jacobson, who collected $3,716. Jacobson was followed to the rail by the United Kingdom’s “Kashmir_uzi” and Brazil’s “MrVibora”.

The Netherlands’ Joris “BillLewinsky” Ruijs fell in sixth-place before Sam Grafton fell in fifth-place. The talented Canadian Sebastian Sikorski, known as “p0cket00,” crashed out in fourth-place and the UK’s “OLDWOLF133” exited in third-place to send the tournament into the heads-up stage.

Matthew “mjw006” Wakeman, an Australian now living in Canada, and Germany’s “pappadogg” struck a deal to make the payouts more shallow. Wakeman collected $37,434 for his second-place finish, almost $5,000 more than the original payout. This left pappadogg to bank $39,851 and the title of champion.

partypoker ran a $1,050 buy-in deepstacked tounament that attracted a field of 248 entries, which meant the $200,000 guarantee was beaten by $48,000.

“RosenheimCops” scooped the lion’s share of this prize money after emerging victorious to win $50,567. RosenheimCops defeated the player known as “WWWpartyCOM” heads-up to secure the victory.

The final table saw Swedish superstar Niklas “Drulitooo” Astedt bust in sixth-place for $10,416 and “Gl4diat0r” finish in fourth-place for $19,344; Gl4diat0r is also known as “pappadogg” at PokerStars who won the Sunday 500.

“profikiller73” is $41,748 richer today after winning the partypoker $200,00 guaranteed Main Event. A large field of 2,583 players turned out for the $215 buy-in tournament and it was profikiller who was the last player standing.

Everyone at the final table locked up $2,634 the sum collected by Alisson “muhhamadALLIN” Piekazewicz. Anton “toshapiter88” Vinokurov busted in seventh-place and by the time “gfsg1989” exited in fifth-place, each of the surviving players were guaranteed a five-figure score.

Andre “buxyta” Santos and “COL_Moutarde” were the next casualties of the final table, which left profikiller73 and “Mr.Miy4gi” to lock horns heads-up, an encounter won by profikiller.

888poker $100,000 Mega Deep

Russia’s “CalmRevolver” was the last player standing in the 888poker $100,000 Mega Deep. A field of 519 players created a prize pool of $103,500 with CalmRevolver scooping $19,722 for their victory.

CalmRevolver defeated “SnowRoll” of the United Kingdom heads-up to secure the title; the British player walked away with $14,532 for their runner-up finish. One other player, “brancacoca” of Argentina, won a five-figure score; the Argentinian banked $10,899 for their third-place finish.

888poker $100,000 Whale

It was a Swedish one-two in the $100,000 Whale tournament so it was not a major surprise that the final two players struck a deal.

Anton “anteen” Bertilsson was the official champion and he won $29,515 after the aforementioned deal. Anton “VnilaVader” Herrmann was the runner-up and he added $23,844 to his lifetime winnings, which are now almost at $4 million.

The third and fourth-place finishers, “wellyxx” of Finland and “f0rmEiTseGaL” of the UK, both won five-figure scores too, namely $16,240 and $11,020 respectively.
