Will Dorey Captures Chip Lead After MPNPT Bratislava Day 1b Triples 1a Field Size
The second flight of the €550 MPN Poker Tour Bratislava Main Event is in the bag, and so are the chips of 97 players who will be returning along with the 26 Day 1a survivors to fight for the money and beyond.
While the total prize pool and payouts are yet to be announced with late registration open until the start of Day 2 at 1 p.m. CEST, the €150,000 guarantee has been surpassed with room to spare, as a bumper 232-runner field turned out for Day 1b.
In the lead overall after both flights is 1b’s chip leader Will Dorey, who progresses with 242,200 chips, his stack just surpassing the 233,000 of Day 1a’s top stack Danijel Kucursky. Other notable players returning for Day 2 are Betsafe pro Monika "HeyMonia" Zukowicz (60,500), Mantas Urbonas (150,400), 2013 Irish Open champion Ian Simpson (151,100), and 2017 MPNPT Tallinn Main Event winner Keimo Suominen (106,200).
For any Main Event qualifiers from either Paf or the Betsson Group, a last-longer prize is still in the mix with the last player standing from both sets of online satellite winners will receive a package valued at €1,500 to the next MPNPT stop.
Another two €1,500 packages – good for either the MPNPT or Cash Game Festival, according to players’ preference – are up for grabs on 32Red Poker at 7 p.m. GMT on Saturday, April 28 in a €5,000 freeroll. The tournament is open to all and will award €2,000 in cash prizes as well as the free packages.
Alongside the Cash Game Festival, conveniently located in the same building, MPNPT side events continue tonight with the two-day €150 Slovakia Poker Cup, which online package winners also won entry to, starting at 6 p.m. CEST.
