The Borgata Fall Poker Open kicked off in a bit of quiet fashion on Tuesday, with PokerNews on hand to provide coverage of the first preliminary events.

The festival opened with two events, the $560 Super Survivor and $340 Pot-Limit Omaha. Both one-day events played to the end, with the former awarding a pile of identical prizes and the latter seeing a champion emerge who was very familiar to followers of PLO happenings at Borgata recently.

Event #1

There were 157 total entries in the $560 Super Survivor and the final 16 players all made the money as Borgata rolled out a $560 Super Survivor as the opening event for the first time.

The final 15 players each earned $5,000 in cold hard cash and there were plenty of familiar faces among them including Cathy Dever, Sid Vats, Jean Paul Norero, Mark Seubert and Mike Muniz.

The full Event #1: $560 Super Survivor NLH tournament results will be posted here as soon as they are made available to PokerNews.

Event #2

Meanwhile, the first traditional event of the series was the $340 PLO. Sixty-four entries would be logged, and by the time the final table was reached, Eddie [Removed:363] held the chip lead.

Just last year, [Removed:363] had reached three-handed play in a field of 49 entries. He then agreed to a deal that saw him pocket $4,204 and the trophy.

This time around, [Removed:363] would once again make a deal. This time, after Chinmay Patel busted in third, [Removed:363] was left heads up with Steve Ma. With first place set to claim over $6,500, [Removed:363] and Ma came to an agreement where the former got $4,674 and the latter $4,278.

PokerNews coverage of the Borgata Fall Poker Open continues with the $600 Deepstack, which should prove one of the biggest of the series. Follow the coverage right here.
