PokerNews to Live Report This Weekend’s HPT St. Louis Main Event

Season XVI of the Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) is currently at Hollywood Casino St. Louis, and this weekend the stop will culminate with a $1,650 buy-in, $400K GTD Main Event.
That tournament, which will be live reported here on PokerNews, offers three starting flights starting with Day 1a at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 20. Day 1b will take place at the same time on Friday, February 21, while Day 1c will be at Noon on Saturday, February 22. The surviving players from all three flights will then combine for Day 2 action at 11 a.m. on Sunday, while the final table will play out at Noon on Monday. That final table will be live-streamed at twitch.tv/hptpoker.
Side Event Winners
For the past week, the HPT has hosted a series of side events at Hollywood St. Louis, which has quickly established itself as one of the Midwest’s premier poker destinations.
On the first day of the series, Nhut Nguyen won the $300 Heads-Up Event, and three days later he navigated a 917-entry field to win Event #1: $350 NLH for $36,518 after an ICM chop with Brian Tracy and Ian Nelson, who earned $37,305 and $34,318 respectively.
Nelson’s success didn’t stop there as he went on to top a 152-entry field to win Event #7: #300 Bounty for $6,362. Meanwhile, Event #8: $200 Tag Team attracted 144 entrants and saw the team of Mary Sturges and Bradley Beetz emerge victorious for $7,512.
Most recently, Jason Simon took home $4,700 in Event #9: $300 PLO/Big O after a three-way deal. As a part of that deal, Jermaine Coleman and Stephen Cleghorn were each awarded $3,393.
