Toby Joyce Leads 72 Main Event Survivors

Toby Joyce

The EPT Online $5,200 Main Event is one step closer to crowning a champion and a large influx of late entries prior to the start boosted the field to 1,304 entries, including 924 unique entries and 380 re-entries. Once the dust had settled for Day 2, a portion of the $6,520,000 prize pool has already been paid out as the money bubble burst with 159 players remaining.

From there on, the eliminations came at a very rapid and consistent pace, and 72 hopefuls remain in contention for the $1,019,082 top prize. Irishman Toby "sadface111" Joyce won't have made a sad face when the final hand had wrapped up, as he mounted a late surge to claim the top spot with a stack of 11,706,697. Only two other players have eight-figure stack sizes to their name including Viacheslav "VbV1990" Buldygin (10,340,384) and "TTWIST" (10,318,673).

Jens Kyllönen wins EPT Online 17: $2,100 PLO [6-Max] for $109,181!

Jens Kyllonen

The EPT Online 17: $2,100 PLO [6-Max] $500,000 Guarantee on PokerStars saw a total of 286 entries and when the last chance saloon had closed for business it was Jens "Jeans89" Kyllönen sitting atop the field as the last man standing, pocketing $109,181 for his victory.

Kyllönen is one of the best known Finnish pros to ever hit the felt. He has almost $3 million in live cashes but his bread and butter is most certainly online. Kyllönen was specifically known for being ahead of everyone in Omaha ability, crushing the golden years of poker for a speculated $10 million in cash games with most of which coming in four-card poker.

The second biggest cash by Kyllönen came in 2009 during the EPT Copenhagen Main Event when he took down the event for $1,120,814, making his victory today his second EPT title on the resume. The Finland native overcame a tough final table to achieve this feat, besting Miguel "¿¿toneecho??" Seoane, Christopher "lissi stinkt" Frank, and PokerStars Team Online Pro Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis.

EPT Online Event 19 on Stone Bubble; 120 Players Remaining

Ognyan Dimov

Action is over on Day 1 of EPT Online 19: $530 NLHE [8-Max], and the day ended with players on the stone bubble. There are 120 players coming back for Day 2 action, but only 119 of them will get paid. "julik433" leads the way into the second day of play with more than 2.5 million in chips, but Ognyan "cocojamb0" Dimov (pictured) isn't far behind in second place. Andre "PTFisherman23" Marques rounds out the top three as the only other player with more than 2.4 million chips.

It took less than 90 minutes to hit the $500,000 guarantee and the 1,000 entry maximum, and it played quickly from there. Two hours later there were less than 400 players in the game, but one player who jumped in late and built a stack was PokerStars Team Online member Arlie "Prince Pablo" Shaban, who bagged a stack of more than 500K for Day 2.
